I am considering upgrading my motor. Has anyone used one of these motors and/or motor/controller kits? Anyones opinions welcome. I would like to maintain my current battery ThunderSky lifepo4 pack setup (2 24v 20ah 2C packs) I could run as twin 24v packs of 40ah capasity or a single 48v pack of 20ah capasity. As I stated the cells are a 2C rating. I tend to like the 1500w model because of the motor shaft size and standard shaft keyway size of 3/16". Strange for a 17mm dia shaft. This motor also indicates the RPM for the voltages as well. Whereas, the smaller 1000w motor doesn't give RPM info nor motor shaft keyway dimention. Ofcourse I can call for moro info I guess. My biggest concern would be not having enough battery power for these motors. I don't think the bike can carry any more batteries and still have room for me.

Thanks, Bob

Well I guess no one has tried ether of these motors yet so I guess I'll do the prototype. I am going with the so called 1500w model but not really. I found the motor somewhere else for less and found out 55a 24v/72v Crystalite controller was a modified 24v/72v 35a Crystalite controller. So I saved about 110 bucks but could have saved another $50 if not for looking to the future with the controller.

Delivery will take a few weeks and several weeks to do the install. Then we'll see how well it it works.

Wish me luck!

Thanks for the links. I actually wasn't taking the easy way out. I did do a search and actually found the threads you posted. But I made the stupid mistake of only reading the short clips from the search. And for some reason I just assumed they were for the BMC hub motors and never read the complete thread.

There really isn't a link to give you. Basicly I happened upon this motor by dumb luck (I hope). Best I know he only had the one to sell and no controllers. I relized it was the same motor (again, I hope) being sold at SuperKids so I bought it. Then bought the Crystalite controller which is out of stock for the next 2 weeks yet. The controller I bought has is claimed to have a 55a capasity (if configured). But I am running 48v 20ah 2C TS pack. So I can only really use a 35 to40a controller anyway. The 35a is said to be the same controller but it doesn't have the resistor pigtails on it so it can be kicked to 55a it's rated at 35a. Bottom line the straight 35a version is about $50 less.
