Dateline: VANCOUVER, BC — Free ebike / e-scooter lithium battery thermal scans will be held at Freshslice Pizza beside the Joyce-Collingwood Skytrain Station on March 21, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm. Battery chargers will be inspected and tested as well. Proximate health of Battery Management Systems (“BMS”) will be provided.







Who should go?



Ebike and electric scooter riders who have subjected their battery packs or their battery chargers to vibration or droppage.



Owners of battery chargers that do not have dedicated on/off switches.



Riders with anxiety from their neighbors on hearing the news of the death of a well-liked e-rider Tim Lilley in the West End, who heroically saved his wife.



Strata Council members looking for technical information about fire insurance claim denials or are contemplating banning battery-powered bikes or scooters.



Everyone who wants to hear about Steve Miloshev's electric scooters which could go up Mountain Highway in North Van without litihium batteries. Miloshev invented hub motors that delivered 350% more power without unwanted heat. These were available from 2007 to 2021.

Fire Sparked by Electric Scooter Battery Kills Woman and Child in Harlem

The fire, which occurred at, the Jackie Robinson Houses, owned and managed by the New York City Housing Authority,
in a Harlem apartment early Wednesday 8/3/2022 sparked by the lithium-ion battery on an electric scooter
killed a 5-year-old girl and a 36-year-old woman, and left the child’s father in critical condition.

E-bikes and scooters have been implicated in numerous fires in recent months, leading the housing authority to propose banning them from its buildings entirely.

Another fire on Monday on Townsend Avenue in the Bronx was also sparked by lithium-ion batteries from an e-bike or scooter
