hi, sorry don't understand what you mean by saying fake cell, do you thinks its rebadged panasonic or that is not really liitokala cell? I will check the nipple but what I am supposed to see? checking capacity is not enough? I don't discharger capable or creating curve. Just measuring capacity.

panasonic NCR is a high quality NCA chemistry cell. i have ncr cells from 10yrs ago that are still doing well (they have very good calendar life).

however liitokala is known for using fake wrappers around *mystery* chinese cells. the keyword being mystery  there are definitely some good chinese cells like CATL or BAK but if the cell is unknown then getting low-quality cells is a possibility

capacity testing alone doesn't prove authenticity because there are plenty of chinese cells that match the NCR18650B's 3400mah, but may not match the panasonic's calendar/cycle life, etc

ok, we will see, the risk is that the cell can have shorter life cycle than original version?

might have bad quality control so the pack may develop bad cells in the future

i've also seen chinese cells that have extremely poor cycle life (yes i have cycled various cells for hundreds of times)

most likely they'll work just fine...

Hi, some update of my project:

after long reflection I decided to change the way of build my frame, and chose to build CNC machined bolted frame. I make my choice for many reason:
-with thermal threatment and the cost of welding JIG, CNC milled frame will be less expensive for me.
-I am more experimented in CNC mill than in aluminium weldin.
-It's reaaly easier to find a place for every component in my frame and to protect them from water and mud projection, impact.
-fabrication will be really faster ( with my tools)

here is some picture of my new design, now I need to reduce the weigh of the frame:

also I received tire and cush core insert ( in order to avoid snake bite, improve lateral rigidity of tire and alow low pression around 1 bar)
find the brakes: Hope tech3 V4 with 220mm rotor, the small 160mm rotor of my dirt bike look ridiculus compared to this:

Don't forget to remember to clean the skin oils from the disc before use! :)

Hi bud, love the build and at your target weight it will be a great ride.I would how ever lace the hub into a alloy mx rim and miss out the pain full bent rim and snapped spokes you will come across using mtb parts. The shinko tyre i run with a rim lock means i can run that fat wall tyre at 12psi even with all that weight in the rim and gives great traction when needed but play full in tight trails were you want the bike to change direction quickly.I also used to run the 5t winding 205 hub and was a great motor, but for off road riding i think you will be doing and the lower kv 6t i run now all be it at 22s volts is even better :D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQgGiAm_3lE

This is my setup running the said 6t winding and 18" mx rim and shinko tyre setup. Was testing the new 22s battery setup as i added more cells for ah.I imagen my build will be used like your build so check out my vids if interested in off road trails stuff with a hub based emoto. Its just a 90mm wide clone frame highly modded with all good fox, hope, rockshox,Halo ect parts:D

Hi speedy1984
yes I already saw almost all your video, really love your build. I'm still waiting slowmo video that your promised :D

about my build, I wanted to try mtb wheel with the best possible setup ( Halo wheel, cush core insert, 27.5 plus 2.8 inch fatest ebike tire.) I also have 240mm of travel with fox DHX2 shox, it will help.
I see no one trying cush core and fat tire like Swchalbe eddy current.
We will see.

about the motor, I didnt found the 6T but only the 5T, if I found it I certainly bough 6T. Hope it will be enough for my usage.

here some news of my design, almost finish, many change, I let you see:

Look awesome fella :thumb: Sorry i will get that slowmo vid, maybe this wknd. Its just a case of when my old Dad comes out as he will get a better moving shot than me trying to catch it on a tripod

Hi
some news,
battery almost done ( miss thermal sheath) and test the motor with it
this is my fist battery build, please be tolerant, it's not perfect. But will accept with pleasure any advises for making it better next time

Hi,
started to mill the swing arm with my diy cnc rooter, still impressed by the work of this machine, reached 0.01mm précision for the bearing holes, part are ffitting well, but it take time to assemble it.

here some pictures:

are you accepting commissions?

Or tips on finding a good shop in the US? Discussion forums where this tech is discussed?

That's home made CNC porn. Love it.

The battery... Too late now but you don't need big parallel links, they only take the balance current, a few hundred mA max. That's 20s16p right? Good choice of voltage.

Excited to see the rest of the frame come to fruition. This is a serious bike.

I can but I'm located in france so if you are in US shipping cost will be high.
I know french forum but don't go on english forum, sorry.

Thanks you
About the battery, yes I know I don't need big parallel link but I add a second layer on the series link in order to improve mechanical resistance of it, not for current.
Yes it's 20s16p 4000wh

hi
I made some mistakes making the linkage rod between the two side of swing arm so made a new one, it fit better:

bearing spacer

also add the two screw for pinch the wheel axle

next step, the sides of the frame:

at first drilling the holes to hold the sheet:

next big pocket milling:

cutting:

rounding the edge:

chanfering:

fisrt side finished:

second side:

le result:

with the swing arm:

Just found this thread, congrats on a fantastic bike build, I will be following!
