This custom build started with a NOS Trek 69er large frame. This is a rare “mullet” frame designed for a 29” tire up front, and a 26” in the rear. This is perfect for a fast, hard tail ebike. The frame has sliding dropouts, so there is no need for a chain tensioner when installing an IGH. I then installed a Rohloff 14 speed internally geared rear hub, BBSHD mid drive kit from Luna, rock shox recon forks, Magura mt5e hydraulic disk brakes, etc.

Every component on this ebike is high-end, or high quality. I believe the only Chinese component is the BBSHD drive unit, and this mid drive motor’s reputation speaks for itself. It will pull 30 Amps continuously if needed. It can peak out at 1600W.

The battery that is pictured here, and comes with the bike is a pocket rocket 52V 8Ah from Bicycle Motor Works.

What makes this ebike build special:

It has a Rohloff 14 speed with a perfect chain line and no derailleur.

It has a Luna BBSHD that is more powerful than most retail e-bikes. The BBSHD, as you can see in the photos is secured to the frame in a professional manner. I used my hand brake to perfectly bend a heavy duty stainless torque arm that was painted and fitted with a custom 3D printed and painted insert with cable routing. The result is a secure and professional looking mid drive install.

It is very light and sporty for an ebike with a BBSHD. I don’t have an actual number, but it is quite easy for me to load on a bike rack. The Trek 69er frame is crazy stiff for how light it is.

It has a suspension seat post and nice saddle already installed.

It comes with a very high end Outbound Lighting headlight with a street friendly beam cutoff pattern.

It has an EggRider V2 display unit that allows you to program and monitor the bike via mobile app.

It has almost new Schwalbe Smart Sam plusebike rated tires with good puncture protection.

It’s very fast. Will do 30mph easily.

The bike has 446 miles on it.

The Q-factor asymmetry is only about 7mm, which is the best of any of my bikes.

Asking $2200. I'm in LA county. No Shipping. Local exchange only.

Neat build and love the parts selection. A BBSHD with a single-speed chain line and a Rohloff transmission sounds like a great time. Good luck with your sale!

I don't know who's going to pick this up, but that is one HELL of a deal.

I thought so, but strangely no interest here or elsewhere.

So I've decided to just keep it.

***Update*** Due to lack of interest, I've decided to hang onto this build.

Seems odd to only give it one day...most people don't visit this forum very often, and unlike me don't read all of the forum whenever they do visit, and would not yet have had a chance to even see the post. ;)

It's been up on offerup too. No bites there either. But the new and used bike market is absolutely flooded right now, so I think it's just a bad time to sell.
