speed vs rpm of the wheels

Someone posted a link to a guys build who has the motors custom built into the wheels(I can't find it again currently if you can repost it for me please), so there are no gears just the motor. So it got me thinking about what Kv motor would work. So if you are going say 30mph how many rpm's are the skateboard wheels running at? Of course you would need an rpm/mph meter to find out I guess.

Yes I posted in that thread but there was some other thread that had a link to a guy redoing I think two engines and had them mounted around the axle and bolted directly to the wheels.

Anyone have an idea of the rpm of the wheels? Figure that would help out on figuring the correct gearing and KV motor.

The size of your wheels will be a factor. I think it was written somewhere recently 100kv/83mm wheels = 39kph with direct drive.

Ok that gives me some idea of what kv.
