I'm working on swapping some of the components out on my old ampedbikes hubmotor kit. I'll keep the motor and controller for now but I'm focused on switching out my lead acid 32v to a 48v 10AH lunacycle pack and packaging it cleanly. I tested the pack already and it works great! I'm also going to hardwire a bunch of accessories - lights, USB charging, maybe more. I threw together some blogspam to document the process:

I know I'm gunna get reamed here for the shoddy first pass installation an subsequent failure but w/e it's worth documenting.

My plans going forward are to create a custom under the rack box for the battery, controller, and other support electronics. I'll also set it up so that USB charging ports are positioned inside my side pannier bags. The goal is to make it very stealthy. Let me know what you think

Ditching the lead acid must feel great, how many watt hours or amp hours was your SLA pack? I think the bike looks pretty damn stealthy. I grazed through your blog post and you seem to have a good plan, with the new lights and battery location  .

I honestly have no idea how many amp hours it was. It got about 8-10 miles when it was fresh but that didn't last long. The lithium was a huge upgrade in every way- speed, range, weight. It's nice :D .

Following up with some design work on the enclosure for this, thought you'd like my jerry rigged 3d scanning (aka tracing).

I'm hopeful that I can get it built in a few weeks -in time for the good weather.
