Wasn't sure if I HAD to put this in toxic but I need help. Folks here - maybe Luke  might be able to figure this out. I am working on my 60 Chevy PU 355 w an HEI distributor. I got a VDO tach. for Christmas to finish out my all VDO dash cluster but it won't register over about 1500 rpm. I hooked to the tach. terminal and tried the c- terminal on the dist.. I also tried a diode inline and a 1000 ohm resistor. I have the dip switches set for 8 cyl. It also has an adj. screw but that is for an alternator triggered setup. so I haven't messed with it. Not sure what to try next. Maybe a higher value resistor? I have looked at VDO site and Googled but can't find much.

Any body have any ideas?

Any gearheads have any ideas what I might try?

Ok, I played with the dip-switches on the tach. and found a combo that works  Totally not the same as the instructions that came with it. All good now. She whips to 6k like a champ.
