Cars seem so clumsy compared to bikes. See how the traffic lights start to be needed where there are more four-wheelers. The early crowded scenes show all sorts of chaos taking place without disrupting the flow, just like in a 'driverless cars' fantasy. 8)

Also note at about 5:40 ( just before the red bridges) a moped giving a cyclist with passenger a helping hand (or rather leg) along the dual carriageway. And others cycling against the traffic!

SO SO MANY! I'd love to ride amongst them. :p

I just came back from a motorbike tour in Vietnam. Great experience and with no traffic lights everything seemed to work fine.....better than the traffic in Melbourne !!!!. There are heaps of electric scooters/ bikes over there. Mostly new, sadly I didn't grab pics. I negotiated over 20 odd round abouts :D trucks are the worry overtaking on the wrong side of the road

I did a good bit of bike touring in SE Asia and I absolutely love the way the traffic works there. It's very logical really. Stay focused first of all. And avoid cars and trucks. They are bigger therefore they don't move for you because they won't be injured in a crash. Very logical.
Compared to western world über controlled societies where people would drive right out in front of a car running a red light because the law tells them they have a right to drive when there's a green light. Regardless of the driver running the red light. In Vietnam you look at the traffic all the time to spot possible hazards instead of watching a silly light...

i wonder if they are using them instead of the standard 150cc, because its cheaper form of transport? (cant afford the 150), underage licensing restrictions?
Its hard for the ebikes to compete against the 150cc...
unlike in China, where they ban gas scooters/motorcycles in many cities.
maybe the communist vietnam government will start banning 150cc's in the future... :?:

here's a clip showing ebikes used by students
