Wiring batteries through a DC toggle switch

Hi folks as the title says I am planning to wire batteries through my scooter using an additional DC toggle between the Y connector to form 2 "hardwired" batteries and 1 external plug which I can use as an auxiliary power with addition packs

Question is; for a 36v system will these be up to the task

Taiss/2Pcs Waterproof 16A 250V 20A 125V AC 6 Pins 3 Position ON/Off/ON DPST Rocker Toggle Switch Boat Or Car Black KCD4-203N-BK https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07V35LB7M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_1XcSDbS4WBFJF

And also, would it be better to wire the toggle in between the power supply plug on the board (does the board need a constant power flow to keep all the data) and any power source? Or does the board need a semi constant feed so switching packs will need re thinking? Or is there a better way about it?

I should mention this is for a xiaomi m365 I guess [emoji2369]

Thanks for your time

For a Xaiomi scooter that switch should be OK (barely). The potential problem is when switching on, there will be a high inrush current as the capacitors in the controller charge which can cause the contacts to weld. One way to avoid this is to place a resistor across the switch contacts to precharge the capacitors, something like 4.7k ohms.

I didn't follow your question about wiring though. As far as I know on those scooters you can completely disconnect the battery and it will be fine when you reconnect it.

Awesome. I'll be back with resistors and I'm sure, more questions lol. Thanks

Thanks very much. Would you have a product link for what you might recommend?

See the specs and choose which best suits your use. The last few pages, "High Capacity Standard Size Toggles"
