Hi everyone,
I'm beginning to prepare to build my own battery. I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into prior to doing so. I understand BMS really well and feel comfortable wiring that BMS to the cells.

Where I'm getting a little scared is ground, charge and discharge wires. I understand that I should use Anderson Pole for discharge, but I don't know where the red and the black wires go in respect to the BMS. The same issue applies to ST3 for charge.

Does anyone have a tutorial they can reference for me?

From my limited experience the red positive is pretty much a pass through the bms, the black negative goes in and can be switched on or off. On a common port bms the charge and discharge are at the same potential for the black negative wire, i.e. one. On a split charge/output bms there is a separate negative lead for the charge and load circuit. The red positive passes through.
