Waking up my old Stink-E - with updates

Hey 1KW The torque plates were quite simple and the older Kona's have a great little "pocket" to utilize. So the plates are contained in the little "Pockets" that are created by the drop outs. Once in place and tightened up, they are solid and do not move. Mine were plasma cut (not the...

Waking up my old Stink-E - with updates

I do indeed have the intake closer to the Axle and exhaust at the furthest perimeter. I truly don't believe it matters what side you have either one on, since both sides of the wheel spin in the same direction And being my rear disc brake is so big and basically covers the entire area of the...

Waking up my old Stink-E - with updates

Wow, been a long time since being on endless Sphere. Lots of new and cool stuff here. I miss it. My old Stink-E has been sitting for about 6 or 7 months. She needed some serious love too. But she has held up up very well for the last 4 years and considering what I was putting her thru. Brakes...

    E-bike Build Overdone (by weight)

WOW....Ingenuity is alive and well. Great use of what you have access to. Everyone here should know it is not easy to fabricate from scratch when you are limited on materials and tools. KUDOS!! But man it sure looks uncomfortable    Since it's all held together with nuts...

    50mph fly-by

Everyone here makes their own points quite well and are quite passionate about their views (Freedom of speech is wonderful). On the other hand...... It's tough when people see only a very small window of a situation (such as your video) and then they are left to their own assumptions as to what...

    Look at my battery mount!

Gotta jump in and agree with everyone here. Cover them up bro.. take the extra time and do it right. I've hit the ground hard with my bike and was SO glad everything was covered AND secure. You know what they say ...... better to take the time to do it right first, than to have to take the...

A-Lines Abound: First ride after some major changes

Some interesting ideas here for sure and some cool machined parts (Cha-Ching $$). keep up the good work. Never have been a fan of those "lefty's". Every time I see one, the words "SNAP, CRASH, and BANG" comes to mind.

    Greg's Stinky Build

Here is the initial template I created for my torque plate. They fit right inside the pocket and once the axle nuts are tightened down, they are secure. Same shape for both sides.

    Greg's Stinky Build

Stink-E's do work well for these conversions. I still love mine. Got full year on mine so far with no real issues.....other than burning thru brake pads  Good luck on your build and keep the posts coming. PS... Torque plates are REALLY easy on the stinky's. I had a local place water jet...

    Oatnet's x5403/Norco A-line, and Front-Mount battery stuff

    Oatnet's x5403/Norco A-line, and Front-Mount battery stuff

points taken. Thanks As I mentioned, I have NO idea how much they weigh so it was just a theory for the backpack. For your question as to how will that extra weight on the handlebars, negatively effects the steering? There really is no question about it....it will effect your steering...

    Oatnet's x5403/Norco A-line, and Front-Mount battery stuff

I might get flamed for this comment, but this was looking to be a great build with all this time spent on some beautiful rear dropouts and a great bike as a platform, but then this big, obtrusive lunch box gets strapped to the front forks... I have seen it more and more lately here too...

    Intense M3 + Clyte HT3525 + HD video

Curious as to if you plan on a Direct Drive hub motor or a geared one (maybe I missed it in the thread). I eventually went through two geared hubs and ended up with a direct drive. The "clutch"...for a lack of better terminology, just couldn't hack it. I miss the torque, range and weight...

    Super Capacitors w/batteries

I did not search this forum on this subject before posting, so sorry if I'm kicking a dead horse here. I saw some videos on Super capacitors. Laying in bed last night thinking of "what if's".... I'm no electrical engineer by ANY means - But what if a Super Capacitor was used in conjunction with...

Specialized Big Hit + Crystalyte HS = :-)

VERY nice. I have looked at the "Big Hits" too but passed due to limited frame space. I like what you did. Maybe move the controller to that small opening in the frame? will it fit? (looks like it would) My questions to you are.... Who laced the rear wheel / hub for you? What gauge spokes did...
