    crazy idea?

bit of a crazy idea here not likely to be practicable I've been using some perspex windows in a fairing, and noticed when cleaning them that they attract dust on the inside of the perspex ( opposite side to that being cleaned), the static build up is very noticeable. I also remembering reading...

Just a note on a small discovery if you add brake fluid to upol car bog, it can be made thinner and drying time is slower, so more time to work with the bog. I tried a number of different substances to see if any would work, since running out of the car bog I wanted it to go further, I'm not...

    modified slingshot trike from 1970's

the previous material was actually ok, I dropped the roof section a couple of times, and damaged the plastic, for lightweight its quite good, but wouldn't take any impacts without cracking or damage, just something a bit stronger would be good, two layers would work, but still likely will crack...

    modified slingshot trike from 1970's

progress pic have to replace side window plastic, other plastic too fragile, old microwave oven doors have nice strong but flexible plastic will try a couple of those, maybe another 3 or 4 weeks before road tests, still alot to do on fairing and to get windows in, and nice smooth finish for good...

anyone have the program in c++ or similar, would be nice to mess with the variables a bit if possible would keywin share it?

Help! Sensorless board pinout. Pics included

attached is application note for infineon as sensorless controller, its certainly designed for sensorless control, also two pics from the application note, the second one shows a mod needed for the current sense circuit, I remember someone mentioning some time back some probs using the add one...

    INFINEON CONTROLLERS FOR DUMMIES

thanks for confirming mr K, the battery i'll use for low voltage board is 24v 15ahr cobalt oxide lithium, approx 27-28v fully charged

hey doc amazing stuff, dont want to be a stick in the mud, but lowell posted a 99.7km/hr speed back in 2007, http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1038&p=15741&hilit=99.7km%2Fh+on+the+RM503#p15741

    INFINEON CONTROLLERS FOR DUMMIES

someone might want to comment on this, see if i'm on the right track: for 12fet xie cheng if using a separate power source for the low voltage circuit ( in my case 28v approx), and a different power source for the mosfets ( approx. 86v), then I'm guessing regen braking voltage will not be...

    Infineon XC846 72V 45 Amp Controller

HI Geoff understand, SL pin does seem to invoke speed limit function on the xie cheng 12 fet boards I have ( was matching to some motors the night and speed seemed much slower when SL was grounded) going by another maker using same chip, pin 16 ( from memory) is connected to r48, that maker (...

    Infineon XC846 72V 45 Amp Controller

on one chinese blog another controller using infineon chip ( not xie cheng) uses r48 to engage self learn mode, I check a 12fet infineon and r48 does have an empty pad , looks like you just connect r48 and r49 to engage self learn mode, I'm a bit scared to try it, as the chinese blog doesn't...

    brett ebike.biz refunds

I've been asked to put some statement on es forum on what my plans are to solve the supply problems, basically my plan is to refund anyone who has been waiting a rediculous amount of time for kits. I know its caused alot of people huge headaches and angst. What I'll do is refund those people...

    Infineon XC846 72V 45 Amp Controller

cancel that previous post, SL is speed limiter, whoops, theres some way to do it, read somewhere the chip has self learn function, sorry

the small film caps they are the small red ones near the fets? doubling them up might be useful?

    Infineon XC846 72V 45 Amp Controller

sent you an email lame seems SL pin on the controller is self learn pin, power off connect to gnd, its in self learn mode, hall sensor connections just colour for colour is ok ( not important how the hall wires are connected , except black/red of course), if motor doesn't run corectly (...

    Infineon XC846 72V 45 Amp Controller

anyone looked into the 'self learning' function in the infineon chip, makes easier to match the controller to an unknown motor to get wiring combination correct, the chip has the function built in but no idea which pins need shorting or other method to make it work. Other self learning...

    modified slingshot trike from 1970's

a pic of the roof no fibreglass used, one layer of aluminium mesh, and a layer of nylon flyscreen ( ran out of aluminium mesh ), was difficult to apply the car filler from outside and push through the mesh as the mesh was flexible ( only one layer of aluminium mesh), so needed to apply some...

    modified slingshot trike from 1970's

I did one side using some fibreglass resin over the flyscreen mesh initially, but didnt' have very much resin only a very small tin ( 250ml) of it, but I found that just letting the resin run down with gravity, it tends to run in lines, instead of trying to smooth it over a large surface I sort...

    Pedal Assist Sensors

the torque sensors on my site work via how much effort put in determines output voltage, same as throttle output voltage 1v to 4v approx, uses 5v input, you use via the throttle wires or in conjunction with the throttle wires so can use throttle at the same time. The output is 2:1 very approx...
