Yuba Mundo - V2 - Redo, at bottom of page

Yeah, it's not easy...I hope I remember how for my next upload.. Nice looking bike/rig... I was wondering what you did to upgrade the brakes? I have a similar situation w/my brakes. Also, it may be good that you don't have disc brakes, since your hub motor doesn't (I don't think...)...

The Chariot Skates look awesome. And electrification is definitely a possibility...they look like half-Segway/half-humans. Bravo! thanks for sharing :D

    Time for a Motor upgrade- 5304-BMC- ???

There should be no problem feeding a 408/4011 30 or 40amps :D Keep us posted!

    Time for a Motor upgrade- 5304-BMC- ???

I don't think this idea has been thrown out there, but how about a dual-speed hub like a Clyte 408/4011 or 4012 with the dual speed controller? Not sure about sources, but i think they are available... somewhere :? I believe you use the 408 for normal cruising and switch to the 4011 or 4012...

    Wisconsin Laws

I think it's a valid point. In MN there are 2 things on the books (as far as I can tell): motorized bicycles - which are basically watered down motorcycles- and electric-assist bicycles. Still trying to get to the bottom of the latter, whether it needs to be registered, some deal about brakes...

Ktronik's "The Blinder" LED Tail Light Project

You're right, my bad. The description of the lights runs right into the dc-dc converter description, so I guess I thought (ADD? :? )a dc-dc was needed for Justin's design. They are not. One thing I've had diffictulty finding with any tail light is a way to mount it. Nearly all of them come...

    Headway 48v 10ah - EVcomponents.com

Excellent job, Y ! Your hard work has paid off, I think. At least it gives us amateurs some insight into tearing into an EV system and understanding the workings....Much thanks for your leadership! Overall, do you think it's better to just buy individual cells and add a different BMS? Or start...

Ktronik's "The Blinder" LED Tail Light Project

I wholeheartedly agree. I think tail lights are the current weak-link in the ebike lighting chain and often feel like a moving target when I'm night riding... FWIW, here's another option for those not wanting to smt solder...Looks a lot like ebikes.ca's but includes the dc-dc converter. Stil a...

Ypedal... another question on the video (not pack related...sorry): Your throttle appears to have some kind of external sleeve thing that you're using as a cruise control. What is it? My thumb gets tired on my throttle and I have been contemplating something like this... Please inform --unless...

Nice work. Cool video. The only thing you need is a beautiful assistant :D Funny to see the cars just barely passing you. My guess is that you were going about 35-40mph...close? Keep info coming on these packs. Look like a great product at a resonable price. ... group order anyone?

Lithium Ion Develpment - 10x Capacity

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Seems like batteries, more than anything else batteries are the weak link.... Then again, if we had super powerful motors (room temp superconducting...?) then our existing batteries may just be awesome :D

Lithium Ion Develpment - 10x Capacity

Some interesting stuff. "10x storage capacity" Not sure if that means Ah, but it sounds promising...hopefully sooner than later... :? http://www.pddnet.com/news-news-storage-material-improves-energy-density-of-lithium_ion-battery-110209/

    LiFePO's range in different temperatures

I'm sure my range is impacted, but I haven't pushed it that close to the limit. Am still able to do my 14mile round-trip commute on my 48V 16Ah Ping V2 without issue, even tho it's about 30+degrees F cooler here in lovely Minnesota now than in the summer. Also, no perceived power/top speed...

    How Fast is your ebike?

About 23mph on the flats, no pedaling or strange atmospheric aberrations.... With light pedaling, about 25-26mph (I changed gearing on my front ring so that I could "contribute" with my Nexus-7 hub at those speeds). Running 48V 16Ah Ping V2, 72V analog 20A Clyte controller with the 30amp mod...

Lexus HB Concept 2WD pedal-assist, carbon-fiber racing bike

My guess is for more accelleration/bettter hill climbing. A2B did that too, with a 20mph topspeed..it's the legal limit..er, right? :? Looks like they are using an aluminum front fork, or something pretty beefy up there. I'm a cycler as well as an ebiker, and carbon is the current ultimate...

    Mini booster pack idea

I like the switch idea and have been toying with the idea of a booster pack "turbo switch" too. It would be great for those long, smooth straights. Have had some feedback from Justing at ebikes.ca because I got my 72V pedal first controller there. He was concerned about the resistance of the...

    Ezee electric problems

You could see if the controller is getting power, see if the fuse to it is burned out. You've eliminated the battery, now move upstream to the next thing..If power is getting to the controller, suspect the throttle, any switches, wiring, or motor connections. Use a volt ohm meter (VOM) if you...

Cannondale Headshok: Good for FWD eBikes?

Cannondale Headshok: Good for FWD eBikes?

I don't have firsthand knowledge of either. I've *heard* about the AL snap phenomenon, but haven't seen it. Makes me think it's urban legend...hmmm. I've had a few aluminum mountain bikes and known a lot of people with AL mountain bikes that jump, rock hop, crash and generally abuse their...

Cannondale Headshok: Good for FWD eBikes?

Thanks Drunkskunk. I see a pattern here... I know there's a movement to stay away from AL, but so far, so good on my monsterous Metro Torquer AL solid forks w/torque arm. I think people are mainly concerned about spinout..Is that correct? Anyway, so far, so good with mine... If these barely...

Cannondale Headshok: Good for FWD eBikes?

Was thinking about my nextgen ebike. I currently run a Metro Torquer townie...it's all aluminum. Heavy aluminum. I'm running a WE front hub, Amped bikes torque arm and my beloved 48V 16ah Ping v2. All is well --- until I hit a pothole! Rear shock absorption is fine. Have a shock absorbing seat...

    My Kona Smoke 29'er

Hey Russell, Really interesting test. Thanks!... I, like you, crave the speed of 48V LiFe, so there's no going back. In fact, I'm thinking about adding a booster "turbo button" to mine for a boost for speed on long, flat sections...I'm running a 48V 16Ah Ping v2 and a 72v C'lyte controller...
