Fun but maybe taking it a bit too far?

Racing rules often have a minimum bike weight, so even though weight reduction has reached an amazing point, they do have to stop somewhere.

But for non racing use, there is no limit. I've wondered how light a fixie could get, but remain very durable and long lasting, if they eliminated virtually all metal from the bike. Plastic hubs, plastic ball bearings inside, plastic chain on plastic sprocket, etc.

the cardboard bike uses way more energy to produce than a metal bike. And the energy for epoxy is petroleum, whereas metal can be just induction heated to recycle it. it's just like the bamboo bikes that use epoxy glass for all gussets.

If you designed a aluminium (or steel) bike to the same STRENGTH and rigidity level of that cardboard frame, i suspect it would have a similar weight.
just because something LOOKS like a bicycle, doesnt mean it will perform and be as durable as a conventional bike.
