I need 2 controllers replaced; one is a Wilderness Energy 36v brush-less and the other is an eZee 36v brush-less. I don't expect to increase the voltage.
Must I use the name brand replacement? Any suggestions where to get the best price?

As long as you're prepared to do some figuring out of connections, sort out connectors that may not match and do some fairly straightforward wiring, then the answer is that you can use pretty much any brushless controller to run these motors.

Two suppliers that I'd personally recommend are Keywin Ge (e-crazyman on ebay, here: http://stores.ebay.com/HuaQiang-North-Road) who sells the very popular XieChang range of brushless controllers, and Ed Lyen (see the "for sale" section here: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=31) who sells the same controllers, but with some useful upgrades, from within the US.

The main issue will be sensored or no hall sensors. Many of the WE kits use a sensorless controller nowdays. Just three wires to the wheel is the indicator. If so, only sensorless controllers will work. The good news, matching up the right combo of wires on sensorless is really easy.
