Good diode for protecting bms in series?

Hey guys,

I'm about to add a battery with bms in series with my existing pack with bms.

I understand that I need to add some diodes to protect them in case one of the bms trips. From searching the forum, I should find one that's rated higher than what i need, which is ~70v/150A absolute max.

So I"m thinking this guy:

http://canada.newark.com/genesic-se.../schottky-rectifier-100v-400a-twin/dp/19T9635

datasheet:
http://www.genesicsemi.com/images/products_si/schottky/mbr40045ct_thru_mbr400100ctr.pdf

Probably a bit overkill, but the price is right.

Also, I'm thinking that since the common anode is the metal base, I could cut the base in the middle and get the 2 diodes I need? I've never used these diodes before, so I'm not sure if this is feasible or not.

Just thought I'd run it by the forum before I blow something up...

get a shottky diode.. or just few parallel 4110 that you use as a diode.. this will work perfect!

Thanks doc!

I have a few mosfets kicking around actually...not sure if I have enough to parallel to handle the amps, but that's a great idea!

What do you think about cutting it in half to get 2 diodes?
