GT2B mods

So I just received my Fly Sky GT2B TX/RX for the eSkateboard (Onda Longa) I'm working on. It's much larger than I expected. Are there any good mods to reduce the size and make the unit friendly for eSkateboard use (such as reducing the range before it goes into failsafe)?

Removing the wheel is a no-brainer and maybe relocating the battery might be workable but not sure about the cost/benefit of other mods.
