How to measure battery temperature?

I have decided to insulate my electric unicycle for winter riding, but I need to be able to check the temperature to see the affect. I don't want it getting too hot or cold. Can anyone recommend an easy way to monitor the temperature? Some kind of temperature sensor I can buy to slip inside the heat wrap or something? I need some advice.

Many BMS include a temp sensor connection. The "Smart" BT ones will show in your phone.

but iirc mainly for motor temp sensing

I need something that doesn't require messing with the battery pack, rewiring etc. Just something I can slip inside the shrink wrap to show the ambient temp in the battery while it's wrapped in insulation.

How about these Bluetooth temperature probes made for cooking? They have multiple probes and sense down to 0c (the idea is to keep the battery warmer than that). I could just slip the probe inside each of the 4 packs (my ewheel has 4 separate packs). Something like the one below. Do you think that would work?

Or maybe something like this instead. It has a smaller probe, and a more appropriate temperature range of -40 to 125c. The only downside is you would require 4 individual modules, rather than 1 with the barbeque type. Though they are small and cheap enough that it wouldn't be a problem. Maybe 2 would be enough for testing insulated vs uninsulated.
