I'm pretty sure the swingarm is aluminum so its going to be hard to modify. I'm thinking the same thing you are, I have a spare swingarm that I'm going to bring to a CNC shop to see what they can do.

Its a very fun bike to ride, whether its off-road or urban assault riding.

I ordered a wider rear tire for my bike should be here by tomorrow. Pirelli ML75 16x2.75 vs my Shinko SR714 16x2.25

Waiting for my new controller, I'm going to be running 100volts, that should allow me to hit over 40mph+ top speed.

Also need a rear shock with more suspension travel, I have 4" Fox rear air shock. Looking to get a 8 inch rear shock.

Also got footpegs that I need to install.

100Volts, look at that 3000RPM motor! 7135W Peak now! Motor barely gets warm.

Nice!

Tommy L sends....

BHT motor with lyen controller. 7000w peaks, all hell breaks loose.

First of all, a wild guess on which Lyen you're talkin' here.

http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=18214

If you've named it, I missed that post. To those still out of the loop, the motor:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/KIT-ELECTRIC-MID-DRIVE-MOTOR-BRUSHLESS-48V-1000W-QUAD-CAR-E-BIKE-/191239305315?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c86c03863

. . . .Unless I misunderstood, I was assuming you were using what's been called 'The Big Block.'

The one I've pondered the experiment with:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRUSHLESS-MID-AXIAL-MOTOR-48V-1500W-CONTROLLER-E-SCOOTER-E-BIKE-QUAD-BIKE-CAR-/201060585451?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ed0250feb

But yours looks more physically substantial. If the 1500w IS as durable as the 1000w, it could peak at 10,000w. Now THERE would be some 'All Hell Breaking Loose.' http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19719 But doesn't that thing like more like a Unite 1020? I don't know. . . .

Meanwhile, despairing at the search for a Mongoose, I've devised an alternative to cobble together. It'll cost less that $100 (I've bought what I need for two) and there'll be parts left over. (Wouldn't it be funny if I sold the castoffs for $100?) If I could just have some spare time AND be healthy at the same moment I can get the glider fit together and start devising the powerplant. . . .

Bike is running on 25S, 90-103volts. Big torque and fantastic hill climbing ability and handling.

Rode to work this morning, added DNM rear shock, more comfortable for my height 5"8.

Watched and read alot of your stuff. Awesome to say the least- the vid of the cx play in that house was ridiculous!!!! Good job on the bikes, now I want one for sure lol.
Hey I'm about 6ft, do you think the mongoose would be too small? There's a brand new one on ebay, but that's hardly worth it for these purposes. Currently gonna see how my older klein fs does with a mxus I guess.
Rock on man

its hard to say it's a small bike but you can make modifications to the bike. Like a using a yz125 seat, and more suspension travel. Installing a 8 inch rear shock raised the seat height for me.

Thanks, I've been checkn pulleys, belts and motors out cuz that setup might work on my current bike. But I would want to do left side drive to keep stock driveline intact on the right. found reversable motors. so that's not a problem, but I'm curious how the hub works on yours.

It's two freewheels? I'm wondering how they acheived a boltup sprocket to the freewheel, and could either side (preferably the right in my case) take a cassette?

Just really curious how they pulled off the dual drive, any info or pics you can relay is of course appreciated!

Thanks, J

Painted the swingarm black and also extended it by 2 inches.

Where did you sneak in the extra 2"?

I took my bike to a fabrication shop and they welded on additional metal.

I drilled the ventilation holes, motor runs hot on 24s but the torque and top speed is phenomenal. 40mph top speed, but very torquey.

I kept this build simple, huge suspension travel and a mid drive motor for high torque. I'm using #35 chain without issues.

Thanks for the info- Your build has gotta be the best build on here for value, fun, and cool factor.
Who wouldn't want a bike like that over a motoped or stealth when you consider the weight and $ end of things? (much less up front cost and by far less upkeep due to simplicity)

In my opinion, this would be the style to replicate, and if costs could be kept around 1000 (72volt without batt) they would sell like hotcakes.

And of course always remember to always respect the machine!

yep^ issue is these frames are kinda rare and hard to find. somebody needs to make a copy of it with a little bit larger battery area.

Workin' on it. It'd be easier if I had one to compare to. So many hitches along the way.

You make good quality builds at a good value. Hats off to you.
I found this for 250 here in MN.

I'm going to try n widdle em down a bit but want to turn this into a mid drive like yours.
Are you using the controller dude linked to above?
Also I want to use this motor on this beast, but I won't have regen. :(

edit* O, you should add a hub mid drive to your repertoire! :D
