The Unofficial 'CroMotor' Owners Tech-Tips Thread

nice video.....
thx 4 sharing :p

but low cost production i donno.....a 150v controller isnt cheap :p
if it was one, 144v nominal voltage? or fully charged? ;D

edit: when the "light" goes on.....it looks like an "Lyen Hi speed 'crap' controller" ..i dont hope so.

Kelly KHB 14401: 899$ + tax and declaration.
So i have contact between B+ and B- over Phase A.
Nothing is connected to the Controller Art the moment.
The Problem seams to be the not tight fastened connection of Bat+.
There the fire impulse started .
The motor seams to be ok ... no short circuit from phases to motor housing!
Now the fight with Kelly started :) Warranty!?!

Ok, I found the problem. The controller itself can be ordered with 3 options:
Standard: motor with 40.000 eRPM
High power: motor with 70.000 eRPM
Ultra power: motor with 100.000 eRPM

So didn't check it correctly, I only calculated 144V x 9,3 turns
The "e" was very important! It is standing for the number of poles!
So the calculation should be 144x9,3x46=61.300 eRPM.
So it was my mistake! By the way, the controller can handle up to 176,4 VDC battery voltage.
But the output voltage is 176,4/1,404=124V for the motor.
Now you know the not loaded max turns of the motor!
No warranty issue because they can read the saved parameters!

NO, you need to divide the number of magnets by two, so the ERPM are also half of that.

Ok, also my mistake, you are right, so standard controller can handle also up to 176,4 V battery supply!
There seams to be another problem!
I will send it back to Kelly!

Regards Andre

For your information, I have sent the controller back to China and now it seams to be lost.
DHL said it was delivered, Kelly Control said they do not have any information about it.
But Kelly Control said also don´t worry.
As they said about lost of delivery, if it happens I will get a new one.
So let´wait and hope :).
Time is running!

Yes, after 3 month now I got it for free, because my shipment via DHL got´s lost.
So the last 2 days I prepared everything for the bike and started now with 75VDC (55VAC for the motor).
I put 6 akkus (Lipo: 22,2V) to the system (3 in series and the other 3 (in series) parallel).
Here you can see my first test:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVa4prU-_SI&feature=youtu.be

After that test I prepared the bike to ride and ...
It was awesome, so quiet and fast!
But with this parameters it only runs up to 61 km/h (theoretically)
9,3 turn/min/V x 60 min x 55V x 2m (rolling circumference)
Therefore I am very happy that the system works very well now.
From 9th to 12 th of June I want to start on quatermile, therefore I will increase the voltage again :)
(176VDC / 124VAC for the motor)
Let´s see what happen.
Before, I will now enjoy my vacation in Spain :)

Andre

So it run 118,23km/h on 1/4 mile within 16,884 sec.
I think not bad for my first electrical bike project!

I do not trust the front bike road tyre (Continental Grand Prix 4000S II) for 300kph ;)
118 is enough, maybe 140kph for a very short time but if the speed goes higher I will use motor cycle tyre ;).
