The "Watch" feature

It seems to me that the "watch" feature is not working for me. In the old version, I constantly received emails reminding me that there were new posts on the posts that I "watched". I forgot the term used for "watched" in the old version. But after changing to the new version, I seldom got such emails. Yesterday I got one email notification. When I went to that post, I found there were quite a lot of new posts that I should have received notifications, but I did not until yesterday. Is there something wrong? I have checked my settings and nothing wrong.

I've tried to use the watch feature a few weeks ago in order to keep an eye on one of our "special" posters. It did not work at all. I had to check the hard way.
