    Thanks, that is helpful.

    LIPO charging

I think your terminology is wrong. 12C is supposed to be multiplied by the capacity to get the amp rating. Whether the 12C is realistic for something other than very short bursts is a different question… If you have any useful information on sustained performance that would be helpful. If your...

    LIPO charging

I’m not sure I understand your post. Are you saying these 20AH pouches can only send out a continuous 5-9 amps?

    LIPO charging

I can’t fit a 72v lion pack in my triangle and don’t want to wear a backpack battery. Chaining together multiple lion packs and finding ones that will fit and put out enough amps, or making a custom pack, loses any cost and simplicity advantage lion might have. And even taking the 12C with a...

    LIPO charging

That sounds simple enough, just use a regular bms and charger. Still thinking through case options, found some good threads on the topic. Thanks!!

    LIPO charging

Combination of amps and mounting flexibility, my frame won’t hold a triangle pack like that.

    LIPO charging

I’m looking at using 5 4S 20AH LIPO in series for my bike but having trouble thinking of a reasonable charging and balancing solution. What do people recommend? Alternatively, I’m considering 3 6S 20AH LIPO which seems relatively straightforward to charge using a 6S 4 port charger connected to...

Understanding and Using EGO Power+ Batteries

I connected 2/3 in parallel. I just made sure they were fully charged when I plugged them together and never had any problem. I also used a fuse for backup, but never needed it. Once installed I charged them in parallel.

Understanding and Using EGO Power+ Batteries

While that's true, you can get a 5ah battery and a yard tool for $200-$300. And the warranty is actually really nice and easy to use. Still, great to have options for getting the batteries cheaper. Did you crack it open or otherwise test it to make sure the batteries aren't counterfeit or...

    Chevy Bolt first drive

I wonder if these will get tested somehow and resold as something else, perhaps making their way to hobby users at some point. Or maybe they'll just recycle them.

Two battery packs- One for torque, one for speed

It's phase amps (controller output) not battery amps (controller input) that create torque. A controller that could use both batteries is probably going to create about the same phase amps at the same speed with either battery. So the 40v battery with be lower speed without any extra torque...

    Phaserunner + CA switch

I have a baserunner and a ca3 and I use a switch from grin (CA3_MFSwitch) that I use to toggle speed/power settings and that includes a power button that turns the controller and ca on and off.

    Building 1500-3000 watt 48v+ bike

If the goal is to mostly go 30 and sometimes go 40, 2kw is enough for that. It won't get you there as quickly as 3kw, but it will get you there and maintain the speed. At least I don't have any problems going 40 on my gmac 8t at 2kw. Well, no problems but overheating the motor if I keep it up...

Choosing a cell type for GMAC 10T trike build

EM3EV has already put pretty conservative ratings on those batteries. Take the 25r for example. That's a "20 amp" battery, which times 7P would be 140 amps. They have it listed as 40 amp continuous 55 amp max. Note that their battery build and BMS choice is limiting the max amps. Maybe the...
