    Here come the clones..

Go straight to the supplier folks- Have a chat to Ruby at Sales@helloskate.com What I have got so far: Only boards available from Supplier now are the Backfire 1200W boards. They look like they use a modified wiimote as a controller, and use LiFePo4 8Ah Batteries. Cost per unit is $400USD...

    Here come the clones..

Getting a sample run first to see what kind of quality the Battery is, How the BMS handles, ESC, throttle curves etc etc. No doubt about it, they are clones (what looks to be a hybrid of quite a few companies designs). I was hoping to innovate my own product since there is already enough...

    Here come the clones..

I was thinking about getting back into this after a 6 month hiatus, I've contacted the Backfire people http://www.helloskate.com and they're pricing boards at $400USD from Supplier per set. MOQ of 1 set and around $400 shipping from China to West Aus. Quantities of 20+ are $350 per board. All...

E-skateboard down hay street in East Perth

Alien setup on a Comet with (what are those? Aeras? Ronins?) Nice build mate! That day I went skating, went from South Perth foreshore over the Causeway and round the belltower and back over the narrows to the foreshore.. Hmmm.. that only used like 2500mah. Back over the causeway into the...

Capasitor Info. how to stop the Ripple

I have on Samings and someone else's suggestion installed a DIY cap pack on my RRBs board with batteries being held in a backpack rather than on the board for a cleaner and lighter board. I wired in 4 x 1000uF 35v Low ESR electrolytic with 6 x 600uF 35v ones giving a total impedance of 6600uF...

E-skateboard down hay street in East Perth

Whoa. This isn't an Australian forum but there are that many of us in Perth? I have been cruising around Perth, but that doesn't sound like me. I ride with red/white/blue LEDs on and mainly on the footpaths. It's so nice that I'm gonna go for a ride around the river this evening. Anyone wanna...

    Help with my first build.

ESC- Electronic Speed Controller You cannot build a board using a Brushless motor without one of these. They work by turning the motor on and off thousands of times per second, the rate at which this varies creates a throttle curve. Braking is also created through a process called "Dynamic...

A skateboard kind of CycleAnalyst (Brainstorm)

I have an idea from my other hobby (FPV flying of RC planes) We use these things called OSDs or OnScreen Displays (Heres an example of a popular one http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17745__ImmersionRC_EzOSD_FPV_on_Screen_Display.html ) It's basically a Heads-Up Display for those of...

    Motor stalling on cold start

Yeah unless you have a hall effect sensor, all ESCs/boards will stall/jitter on startup with load on the motor... Something about sensing the RPM to apply the correct amount of torque... Torque might be the man to explain it better

Narrowed down my decision; buying eBike

Have to +1 on this with my $0.02. I use 6x 6S 5000mAh LiPos in parallel (3 separate dual packs) to power my e skateboard and it flies along at 40km/h (with a 245kv motor and a 15/32 gear ratio) for about 45K distance... But! They are dangerous! I use a smaller 2200mAh 3S to run the LEDs on my...

    Intro thread

Hey all, I'm from over on the E Skateboard forums, just built a 6S, 30Ah longboard. I picked up a book on eBikes called "THE eBIKE BOOK by teNues" last week and have been very keen to get started on these too... is there much difference between the two? Same principles right...

    Powder Coated Electric Longboard Trucks!

powder coating looks sweet! MY redrock surfrodz are powdercoated and they look sooo schmick. Sabres are high polished though too and that looks nice and futuristic? That could be an option too? or even a Matt dulled out metal? (but that may lead to pitting corrosion...hmmm)

Nothing new, Just happy with my board!

Gday folks Just rode my board to work and back (30 K round trip) off a 20A 6S pack. Took about 2 hours altogether, picking up board, walking across traffic lights, avoiding crazy drivers/ pedestrians etc. Not feasible as a work transport vehicle sadly. But I have so much bloody fun on this...

    stuff

Yeah I think it's part of the design to limit the premade boards so you don't have riders with little to no experience on skateboards flying down hills into traffic... Watts= Volts x Amps (but Watts doesn't exactly equal how much power you have, it's more of a guide to more complex maths to...

    stuff

I just built a board based on RedRock Boardshops design and my first ride was today. It was flawless. Absolutely amazing and the backpack battery leash is ingenius! Kinda sad that his Kickstarter didn't succeed, it's an excellent design!
