    a DC-DC to charge li-ion... GREAT!!

There are lots of adjustable dc to dc converters on ebay from china. Also there are power supplys 120vac to 12 vdc to drive the dc-dc modules. They are not expensive. I think I may build one. A charge rate of 2 amps is plenty...even 1 amp. Also will need an 18 pin connector...male and female...

    Battery Degradation......

Yes, I did disconnect the battery from the controller. So it was the BMs that drained the battery. When I first built the battery I checked the BMS drain on each cell. it went from about 1 ma to 3 ma. That is why some cells ended up much lower in charge than others. Dogman, thanks for the...

    Battery Degradation......

Update....I charged a fully depleated cell...and it took close to the full 20 ah charge!. (It is not damaged at all ?) I am wondering why after a full charge of the battery that the battery started dropping off in voltage after only using 9 ah on a 20 ah battery. The cell previously mentioned...

    Battery Degradation......

I bought Lifepo4 cells and "Capacity" BMS from ebike-bmsbattery.com and built a 48v battery less than 2 yrs ago. the first yr the battery worked great. However after a winter layover i am having problems. I know that the BMS will drain the battery over time...I should have disconnected it for...

    BMSBATTERY PROBLEMS???

A few months ago I received 32 cells, a bms, and a charger from ebike-bmsbattery.com (china). The bms did not work. I emailed them but they did not respond. So I resorted to ordering a new BMS (which worked). Then the charger failed after only 3 charges. I emailed them again. They responded...

DC - DC modules for charging ?

I am investigating using individual dc - dc (isolated) power supply modules to charge a battery....no bms needed. one module for each cell. Are there any inexpensive... lets say...5 volts dc to 3.65 volt dc modules at maybe 2 amps available. Thanks in advance Reg G

    Capacitance balancing BMS connection

The procedure is to wire up the BMS connector to the battery pack......... then plug the BMS board into the connector. I have lots of experience in electronics and you should never plug a cct board into a powered connector. Problem is, there is no other way to do it. Just take your chance...

    Capacitance balancing BMS connection

I received a Capacity BMS from BMS Battery.com. It has the same wiring diagram as GGe5 shows. I think I made a wiring mistake (the BMS got quite warm). Ordered another one from them. Didn't receive it yet. RG

I think i'm gonna puke.....or cry... maybe both..

Will the CA indicate that the battery is discharging in a case like that?

    BMS confusion.....

I have researched this forum for many hours. There seem to be many different opinions expressed. Cannot find where to obtain a stand alone BMS. I am wondering if the best way to go is to buy a (48v) battery pack complete with BMS and where the battery cells are easily replaced. (I think this...
