    Warren's 350 MAC mid-drive (finally) recumbent

Dom Harvey had a 48 volt 408 in his BB drive, built about 4 years or so ago now. I think he also used one of the dual wound two speed versions an a later incarnation. http://www.evalbum.com/769 a pic of an early version.

Upgrade to big disk, better on front or rear?

If you think about it V brakes are in principal a type of disc brake, only difference being with a V brake the rim is the disc. Far different than comparing to a roller, band or drum brake. AS to the OP's question, I agree with putting the biggest stopping force on the front wheel.

The Cyclone Thread. cyclone users report here!!

Swapping out the freewheel is pretty straight forward. Remove set screw and slide freewheel and adapter off of the motor. Careful you don't misplace the key, the set screw does not have to come all the way out. Clamp the freewheel adapter on the shoulder, face down in a vise and unscrew the...

    HELP WITH MY BIKE

Better check the chain size of the sprocket on the motor. Typically those motors have a #25 chain size sprocket, not compatible with a MTB chainwheel or sprockets at all.

Hub motors suitable for SM or mid drive?

I'm watching your build closely to see how this Cute little guy works out Malcom. I currently have a similar MY1018 set up that needs an upgrade. More power for the steep Seattle hills would be nice. Rather than try to align the sprocket by moving the motor around I think I'll probably set up a...

    Freewheel crank resources

Dequinox, I just took five nuts about 2 sizes bigger than the bolts that go through the freewheel so they would not thread on, just spacers basically. Put them between the face of the freewheel and the back of the drive ring. Still caught enough shoulder on the freewheel to center the ring but...

    Hub vs non-hub motor drives.

I've run BB drive and hub motors. The hub motors, especially the geared ones are pretty hard to beat for all around performance and reliability. My BB set ups all needed fairly constant tinkering but when they worked were excellent. The direct drive to the rear wheel with broached freewheel...

    Could I get some ideas?

Nice simple and easy to execute design TD. Maybe a spring rather than the turnbuckle?
