    Nissan Leaf Cells Test Data

Are you using it in the original configuration ,..355v, 168 ah ? If so, your 400 a draw ,( < 2.5 C ) , is well within its designed performance. Those cells are claimed to be an “improved” version of the original Leaf cells, which, according US Department of ENERGY study, those original 54Ah...

.if so, why is it that every country that has significantly introduced wind and solar as a primary generation source, have seen their RETAIL. COST of electricity increase in line with the % of RE ? EG:- Germany, UK, Australia,….and in the US ,..California ! Understand the difference between...

    Ev trike beginner.

..true but,… be aware, 80% limit (12.5v) will significantly reduce your driving time/range….. and remember because they are in series (12 x 5) , you need to check the voltage of each battery individually to be sure one or more of them do not go out of ballance.

    Replace or these still good?

??.. what else did you think it could be,…have you even tried to see if it acts as a brake ? Other than on a Road race bike, or BMX, i cannot imagine riding with a rigid fork these days, and that one does not look any better than cheap Walmart kit. I hope you are not intending to motorise that...

Inside a Dual voltage power tool pack !

54/18v , DeWalt ..9Ah see first photo . Also.. i dont see any smoke or flames ?.. maybe this is the safe way to “kill” lithium packs ?🤔👍😱

Ever wondered what therse packs look like internally ? …or wondered what a water jet cutter can do to one ?

Bobcat Lawn Mower (project in progress)

“Commercial use”.. suggests a lot of use ?. you are using <5.0 kWh of battery on a 10+ kW motor, …but even if you only use 5kWh on average,….you can expect short working days ! what are you planing to recharge with ( charging time ??) In my experience, most of the noise from this type of...

Anyone have experience with LiFePo4 scooter batteries?

😱…”the authority” ? …🤔 ..controversial comment ! Did you learn that from BU ?.. They do not charge faster,.. they are also bigger and heavier than Lithium NMC /NCA etc ..Also , it has been around for 30 yrs !

Does this imaginary voltmeter that I want exist?

????..your preference i guess,….but it seems like you will just be making your life hard for an inferior result ! An electronic device could present the info in so many different ways, as well as storing the data for later analysis.

Thread for new battery breakthrough PR releases

Now for something completly different !….. Grid scale storage, currently the domain of lithium batteries, Pumped Hydro, Flow cells , Thermal storage, etc ……may have a new competitor. And the core material may be a shock ! COMPRESSED CO2 ! Based on the principle that CO2 can be compressed to...

Does this imaginary voltmeter that I want exist?

Well technically that is not true. the needle is just reacting to a electrical signal, and as a mechanical device it cannot be faster than that input signal,… ….but a digital display can effectively be as fast as the signal. However,..what you probably mean is you find a needle display easier...

    Toyota’s 1:6:90 rule ?

Small battery (<30 kWh) EVs would easily work for most of the City/suburban users (80% of australians ?) whose average daily usage is less than 50 km. Indeed some of the first EVs were just that (Nissan Leaf, 24kWh, 100+km) and were widely accepted, ….but as users tried to venture beyond the...

    Toyota’s 1:6:90 rule ?

EVs with small batteries (<20kWh) ..sounds very much like most PHEVs. with a useable electric range of 50-100+ km, they can easily fulfil the average car users daily requirement without using any fuel….…..and also perform the longer distance duties when needed. Edit… Australia alone has 47...

    Li-ion retirement?

Before spliting the packs,..try “manual” ballancing of the groups by boosting the low voltage groups up to match the higher voltage groups, using a single cell charger. ( or drop the higher voltage cells back to match the others) Then cycle them a few times to see if they still lose balance. it...

    Toyota’s 1:6:90 rule ?

    Toyota’s 1:6:90 rule ?

Thats idealistic, ..but this is the real world, and we have to be REALISTIC.! So any option that reduces the use of oil has to be considered useful. The whole world is not going to switch to EVs, ….but if many more can switch to Hybrids /PHEVs (or LPG) , then that is a big step in the right...

    Toyota’s 1:6:90 rule ?

I would say the reasoning makes logical sense, both from a overall reduction in emissions objective, and a forward business plan for Toyota . Aussie Taxi company 13Cabs, have also gone one step further by having their Camry Hybrids converted to use LPG also, to not only further reduce emissions...

Yes,…. if nothing else, this Talent info seems to parallel to the Samsung 900Wh/ltr that you posted last month. hopefully we may eventually get the full specs of one or both , and some idea of commercial availability /use. Grin’s perspective of Ebike fires

Have you been to any big cities lately ?..USA or any other country. take a closer look at some of the Camrys , Rav 4s, etc , and Lexus models also….they may not be as obvious as the Prius, but many of them have been Hybrids for years.

    Grin’s perspective of Ebike fires

But not as cheap or easy as converting ICEs to LPG or CNG which also dramatically reduce emissions. That would be the smart way to go whilst waiting for the EV technology to mature and reduce in cost. it also addresses the main issue of reducing the consumption of Oil products ,..quickly…...
