    On/Off switch autopsy

Did some research into breakers and found Square D QO breakers are rated for 48vdc, upto 50amp and only about $15. Current ratings are NEC standard, which is infinite hold time, with about 100 sec at 4x and 100msec at 10x. Resistance is pretty high though, about 100mohm for a couple used ones...

    Xenforo conversion thread

The giant thread CA v3 preview has a long list of helpful index links on the first page, but virtually all are now broken (including first 2), or is this not Xenforo?

    Do 100mph bikes exist??

Yeah, sold my goldwing bobber last year and switched to this safer alternative. Oh well. Next high speed run I do will probably be on a dynojet. Kinda expensive, but cheaper than an er visit.

    Do 100mph bikes exist??

Ran across this post today, and need to say this 98mph Grin simulation just can't work! The Grin page probably needs the "simulate" button pressed, in which case the 8.1kw motor power will yield about 60mph (where load and power lines cross), not 98mph. 60mph is what my 24s build does...

How many volts do you run on your daily driver ebike, emoped or eBSM?

Have gradually increased volts over time from original 12s lion to current 24s lipo, or about 100v max charge, Have found the ca is really necessary at these volts. Using a hall based throttle is not easily controlled otherwise.

    Rear sprocket

Uneven idle speed and dragging clutch can slam the freewheel back and forth and destroy the freewheel pawls pretty quick, especially with centrifugal clutch, but maybe lever type also. Might be able to see it when idling.

Recommend heavy duty/semi heavy duty bike stand

Been using this cheap amazon stand on my sig ebike (55 lbs). No problem testing in the living room at 60 mph (after some mods to stand): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075FC2LBX/ Mods to stand: convert from adjustable to fixed size, to add strength (drill plastic ends and insert a bolt on...

What are the problems with e-bikes?

Hey ZhakirSetie, Can't answer your question, but wondering why your signature consists of links to fake local router address, intentional or what?

What about CA3-WP and MFSwitch and Aux input ?

Here's a sketch of my ca3.1-wp-mfs. Mainly opened it up to see where the buttons connect to internally, also to estimate a current rating for the power switch. It seems to use an active switch built in to the housing. The up/down arrow keys connect to 2 different resistors to ground. Working ok...

    XLD Brainpower motor controller XunLiDa

For those interested, some more (deep dive) technical info about the above Infineon micro posted by philf earlier in this thread. This is likely a close variant of the Infineon XC886 processor, a quad package version of the dual sided XC836, both of which are still very popular in Chinese...

Of course I did this - pas sensor

If you want to live dangerously, just touch the yellow and blue wires together a few quick times and see if the motor turns. This could fry the controller, though, if red is not the power wire. Verify that with a voltmeter first (that red has the highest voltage to ground).

What is limiting my BLDC Motor power Output?

Measure voltage, current draw and rpm at max unloaded motor speed. There is a possibility that the new 3000 watt controller is wired incorrectly https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3484 , plus this information is needed to allow basic calculation of the motor's theoretical...

Stupid Question: Can I solder 18650 cells?

I found you really need a good soldering gun like the Weller D550, which is 260 watts, about $35. I built this a couple months ago, 65 recycled LG batteries + holders cost just under $100.

Battery for Ebikling 1200w rear hub

I have an ebikeling hub kit (1.5kw), mostly ridden at 12mph limit with some pedaling, and find 65 cells (about 650wh) good for accelerating through intersections, going up easy hills, and several hours range (a little longer than I want to sit on a bike seat). Is this what you mean by midrange...

    brake light wiring

I agree with Fechter, as long as the signal line is active low, the ebrake switch can handle the taillight load, and the controller is using 5v not 3.3v logic levels. The 1N4007 will likely have too much forward voltage drop for 3.3v. But looks like OP has access to spice, if so you can model...

    brake light wiring

This circuit will allow the taillight to be switched without exposing the ebrake switches or controller sense line to whatever voltage is powering the taillight. It will work with ebrake switches that are wired in parallel as shown (active low). The simpler circuit shown earlier in this post...

    brake light wiring

Yeah, your method of applying full taillight voltage on the ebrake signal line should be safe, especially at 12-14v max. 12v on the signal input will drop about 7v across the isolation and pullup resistors in parallel to 5v supply, maybe 2 milliamp total, not a problem. But with 52v on the...

    brake light wiring

Hi Tommycat. Yes it's a very simple circuit, although it does work. When the ebrake switch is open, 5v (through a 5k resistor inside the controller) is provided to gate of the mosfet, charging its capacitance, turning it on, and lighting up the brake light. When the ebrake switch is closed...

Where would you place a 72v 25ah battery on this frame?

I had a similar problem with my build, and calculated that one standard astm sized brick is about same volume and weight as 45 18650's. One brick =205x90x50mm, 1590g. One 18650 = 65X18X18mm, 45g. So 200 batteries is about same weight and volume as 5 bricks. Not exact but close enough for trying...

    brake light wiring

Well, I went down the rabbit hole of trying to find how "standard" Chinese controllers are configured for ebrakes. Answer from most sellers is: "don't know don't care as long as you buy from me". So anyway, am now pretty sure amberwolf is right; most ebrake switches are normally open (N.O.), and...

Yes, another inverting stage like you described would be needed, if the signal line goes to zero to trigger the ebrake!

    brake light wiring

The controller ebrake input has at least 2 wires; ground and a signal line with 5v on it supplied inside the controller by a pullup resister. Some newer controllers have 3 wires, the same 2 wires plus a constant 5v supply line for a hall sensor (for hydraulic brakes). In either case, the front...
