Rocky Mountain Blizzard Fat Bike Build BBSHD

Looks nice! Do you ride in the snow? I'm converting my fatbike mainly for that purpose. Snowmobile trails are great on manual power once they are well packedl, but a lot of work otherwise!

    Nervagon's Directionless, and Doomed Build

Check out the Litelok X1, that's what I've got for my fatbike, little larger internal space and similar toughness ratings: https://us.litelok.com/products/litelok-x1#specifications

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

Thanks for breakng the ice that seems to have formed... @neptronix looking forward to you getting the battery and other parts to see how it goes for you. Any learning you do (as well as @nervagon and others) will help mine go better when it show up!

    Nervagon's Directionless, and Doomed Build

Looks really nice! I've liked that Photon since they introduced it, and if it would fit on my CF frame I'd probably installed one already. Glad you got a setup you're happy with

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

I don't think its silly at all and I am glad they put in the effort to keep the weight down. When I see a product that is crudely designed or non-optimized in the physical package it always makes me wonder what other corners were cut. Also, I worked hard in my fatbike build that the motor will...

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

It was in this forum just last week: https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/lightest-bike-1-7kg-1000w-mid-drive.103429/post-1798645 I guess Matteo didn't Explicitly say its not available, but he didn't reply to my followup a couple days later either. Hope you get a better answer

Did you find a different source for a larger motor pinion? Obviously Bikee won't provide as they just dashed me down when I asked. I'm not able to measure the output shaft or spline count as I don't have one in hand, appears to be about a 30 fine spline by the few photos.

My 48V battery is ready & waiting........and waiting..

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

Exactly. My point was that because a larger motor pinion would make the motor spin slower, it would make the top speed higher for offroad use. Also the larger motor pinion would slightly raise the chain and give more clearance for a larger chainring. Maybe it would only be suited to 1000W...

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

@Pilot Engineer, Is a larger motor pinion gear available? I know it was early on, then you settled on a 10T, maybe to allow clearance for the torque arm and idler. A larger pinion gear would solve the higher top speed dilemma for Offroad/Unrestricted use, or when a larger chainring is needed...

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

nervagon, you are just too much of a powerhouse and pulling the torque sensor to full deflection with ease! In reality, results on torque sensing will vary by install as it looks like the standard and in-frame style torque arm are slightly different length and motor orientation/spacing probably...

Can you just enter 16" for the wheel diameter?

Did you get the Superhero kit? I thought that is supposed to have a lighting port controlled from panel

Interesting filament, looks cheap too at $18-22/kg! Gonna try it out, maybe a substitute for the expensive CF/PC I've been using.

Looks very nice! I do a fair bit of printing myself & really like PETG for its toughness. What did you glue the sections together with? PETG is notoriously difficult to glue!

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

@nervagon Did you provide that upper frame clamp? It looks great, I don't remember seeing another install that looks so solidly mounted

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

I was wondering the same thing & it took a while to think it through. In the dual chain config, as soon as the motor applies torque, the top side slack will be gone and the torque sensor will be at zero deflection. The torque sensor seems to act as only a chain tensioner in this situation...

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

Several people on the Facebook group got theirs last week. Indiegogo update from this weekend remains.... well, same as usual, production continues with hiccups

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

Info back on pp 9-10. It's an MT60. I've verified with Bikee support, the 3rd pin is NOT connected internally on motor, so no risk of frying things if you plug it on wrong.

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

I've seen that the Stealth & X1 Pro MIGHT be made to fit, with some unavailable options, but on their main page they do not list fitting on 100 or 120mm BB.

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

Another feature of this motor is the flexibility of mounting options. I will be mounting on CF fat bike with 100mm BB. Because of the thickness around the BB, Bafang, TSZD2, and CYC photon do not have the required spindle clearance.

    'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

Thanks @jhoexp for posting a video of noise, been anxiously awaiting! Do you run a machine shop? Very nice install, I noticed there is no strap around bottom tube to secure the motor. Do you have ISCG lugs?

From the manual: S11. Enter the 4-digit numeric pin found in the package in the "settings" screen of the App. Haven't gotten mine yet so don't know if that's accurate. I would have thought it would come with no PIN set.
