With all the talk about Pikes Peak and alternative hill climbs I was wondering if anybody has ridden up the Alpe d'Huez on an e-bike? It looks quite formidable!!

8.5 miles with 21 hairpins!!
Average gradient 7.9%;
Maximum gradient 14%
Start altitude 717m;
Finish altitude 1850m.

I'd love to. But looking at the profile of the climb, I've done the equivilant on a rocky mountain pass nearby. All it took was a typical hubmotor on 48v.

What I didn't do, is the 150-200 miles that typically comes before a TDF alp d huez stage finish. :roll: That's what really makes that climb a bear!!!
