Bafang ultra with small front chain ring.

I’ve seen many threads on bafang ultra bikes recommending a 42t front chain ring.

I don’t like the generic aluminium m620 frames so I’m looking to convert an existing Emtb. I’ve seen a Kenevo for sale locally but it’s not possible to fit a large front chain ring.

Would this be a big issue?

I think a lot of "what size is right" depends on you and your riding habits. There really is no wrong, just better or worse for YOU! 42t is a good starting point, but for the more urban type riding I do, I run a 50t. One of the big reasons, for me, is to keep me off that very high wear 11t in back......
