Battery building materials for protection.

Have seen a fair share of ebike batteries and wondering what materials people use for rigid protection on the outside of the battery.
I've seen a few that are surrounded by thin panels that look almost like what you would make printed circuit boards from, but without the copper coatings.

I have used electrical-grade fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) for various electrical projects. It comes in different thicknesses.
