BMS heat issue?

I made a battery that is just enough to cram into the case I have, but the 60A Daly bms I'm using is 5mm too thick.
To solve this problem I carefully removed the metal plates, and managed to make it thinner by 4mm, it's now not as waterproof but it's still covered in conformal coating so I'm not worried about that.
The thing I'm worried about is heat, even though it has no active cooling, the metal plates did act as a heatsink.
Daly makes really nice BMS's so I don't think it should run very hot, but is it dangerous?

It's not ideal. I would make sure the part that's hot does not face or contact the battery's cells... it could possibly melt the cells heatshrink wraps over time. Also, use kapton tape (that tape is heat resistant) to help insulate cells from heat of BMS.
