You are really enjoying your bike extensively :thumb:
Great place to ride over there!

Yep, this bike and those dirt roads won't ride itself! So, ride on! 8)

Another day i've went on a ride just before sunset.

IMG_0305.jpg

This is most definitely not a water in there:

Hello!

IMG_0271.jpg

Padlocked dirt road? Well, that happens sometimes:

Industrial railroad station at outskirts of Priyutovo:

The road ultimately bring me to ruins of Priyutovo Reinforced Concrete Constructions Plant:
IMG_0260.jpg

IMG_0256.jpg

IMG_0248.jpg

There some of my childhood memories about this plant: my aunt brings me to work, got me full guided tour through all buildings. I'm seeing how concrete going through tests in laboratory, how it's components being mixed, how mighty vibrators thicken cement mix of entire slab, how those slabs then going through gas ovens and being shipped out afterwards. I've even sit on controls of bridge crane and lifted couple of concrete slabs myself, a big deal for a kid!

Now those giant gas ovens became emitters of peculiar "midday terror" feeling, just white tombs underneath blue skies:

There was a railroad running through this building, now there some shady metal scrap place:

IMG_0222.jpg

That's it for today! More Bashkirian photos coming soon.

Next time i went to ride exactly at sunset time. Ravines and valleys i've already known was filled with thick shadows:

Sun is setting fast:

Outskirts of Priyutovo also had a good view from here:

That's it! Sun is gone under horizont:

Fields around Gas Refinery again, but in literally different colors!
IMG_0525.jpg

It's a shame those gas flares didn't lit. Good for environment, though:
IMG_0548.jpg

Only one flare is burning bright under a blood-red skies:
IMG_0550.jpg

I've set a tripod and start waiting to industrial, light and magic:

Dirt roads under the light of a headlamp became mysterious:

From the shade of windbreak i've suddenly went to an open space:

Just me, my bike and Cosmos:

Then i've went to the woods:

IMG_1432.jpg

IMG_1431.jpg

IMG_1428.jpg

From the fields, where air warm like a milk i've begun descent to rivine of Deep creek. As darkness thickened around me and air got colder an colder some primordial gut feeling told me: "don't go there, THEY gonna eat you!". But hey, what am i to afraid of mosquito bites? Nothing happend to me:

IMG_1423.jpg

IMG_1421.jpg

That's it for today, but more photos of Bashkiria to come!

A trip from Priyutovo to little settelment Islam-Backhtyee... Backhty? Backhtee? Something like that. It's Bashkir language, so i can't pronounce it correct eather.

Local oilmens use easy approach to build dirt highways. They just plow their way through rocks like it's nothing:

IMG_0740.jpg

"Куст скважин" literally translates as " a bush of [oil] wells". What it means is "cluster of oil wells":

Local terrain gives you a gorgeous sights:

I'm on a high bank of a river Ик. It's pronounced like Eek, which in russian language means a hiccup, which is funny. Of course, the name of the river is bashkirian and means just a "running water", a perfectly normal hydronym:
IMG_0800.jpg

A little settlement named Islam-Backhty is below me:
IMG_0802.jpg

IMG_0976.jpg

A steep road down to the settlement. The mighty regenerative brake is perfect for that kind of terrain, i've barely used mechanical brake at all:
IMG_0796.jpg

There must be some small creek, a tributary to the Eek, but this summer so hot and dry it cant be seen. Just a much greener colors of the grass gives it away:
IMG_0804.jpg

Enter to the settlement:

У:
IMG_0831.jpg

A don't have a slightest idea what that means. Letters are cyrillic based, that's all i can say:
IMG_0833.jpg

IMG_0835.jpg

IMG_0839.jpg

IMG_0842.jpg

It's time to say goodbuy to little cosy Islam-Backhtyee and go up to the plateau:
IMG_0852.jpg

IMG_0848.jpg

IMG_0850.jpg

IMG_0873.jpg

IMG_0793.jpg

There is no horisont up in these steppes, just a heady wind:
IMG_0798.jpg

IMG_0855.jpg

IMG_0961.jpg

IMG_0967.jpg

The steppes had a strong effect on my face:
IMG_0858.jpg

IMG_0856.jpg

That communication tower is 10 kilometers far from me, in another region of Russia (a town named Abdulino, Orenburg oblast). So i'm literally standing on a far end of Bashkiria:
IMG_0984.jpg

Take me home, country roads:

A sunset:

After a sunset all around became purple:
IMG_0898.jpg

IMG_0903.jpg

IMG_0904.jpg

These dirt roads all covered with powder, which is makes them very soft to ride. But if you add some water to that powder - that's it, better stay at home, unless you want to ride over a piece of melting butter:
IMG_0907.jpg

IMG_0911.jpg

IMG_0916.jpg

IMG_0927.jpg

IMG_0936.jpg

Suddenly, a miracle! A moving car with actual people in it! That is only vehicle i've met for all this hours of my ride:
IMG_0948.jpg

IMG_0940.jpg

Sun sleeps just behind this sunflower field:
IMG_0917.jpg

That's it for this day, more photos of Bashkiria to come later!

Nice, very nice.
video of some slow ride in silence plz. Film little bit around and your bike too. I see your slow wound motor and big tire to shine on these lands.

Thanks! Yep, i've defenetly should shot some videos, i just realised - i never shot anything ebike related on video since i've switch MTB frame to Teleport!

It would not be tomorrow... around september or october, i guess.

Today i'll show you around Priyutovo settlement.

This settlement got its growth spurt in 1950's, when new oil reservoirs was discovered around. Oilsmen decided to use patch of forest to set a amusement park (just a lighted trails and outdoor dance floor). Now it's just a forest with barely visible trails and stumps of lampposts:

IMG_0693.jpg

IMG_0694.jpg

IMG_0695.jpg

IMG_0697.jpg

IMG_0699.jpg

IMG_0691.jpg

This little bridge over creek made of little concrete slabs looks exactly as i remember it from childhood (when my aunt used to brought me to reinforced concrete constructions plant):
IMG_0688.jpg

Creek became more swampy and grass mauch taller and wild, though:
IMG_0687.jpg

When you out of the forest, there is industrial zone at settlement west outskirt. Concrete plant (which is destroyed to rubble) i've showed you before, but there is still life out there, this oilsmen transportation facility for instance:
IMG_0313.jpg

IMG_0315.jpg

IMG_0307.jpg

A little trip through the streets of settlement at sunset:
IMG_0351.jpg

IMG_0319.jpg

IMG_0316.jpg

A view to Priyutovo from fields west of settlement. Thanks to telephoto lens and NG refinery - looks like huge industrial compound!

IMG_0947.jpg

IMG_0958.jpg

IMG_1148.jpg

IMG_1409.jpg

Those garages were abandoned in the middle of building process, so they always looked that creepy:
IMG_1165.jpg

IMG_1173.jpg

Abandoned gas station in a middle of a prolific petroleum reservoir. Go figure!
IMG_1398.jpg

IMG_1399.jpg

IMG_1405.jpg

Sun is finally set:
IMG_0957.jpg

Priyutovo after sunset:
IMG_0395.jpg

IMG_0393.jpg

Abandoned house stays like this for years and nobody dares to grab a construction materials:
IMG_0394.jpg

And there is abandoned "сельпо". It's from "countryside consumers society", an very old soviet thing nobody remembered. A local little universal stores from that society was named after abbreviation of full society name and became eponymous:
IMG_0396.jpg

IMG_0397.jpg

IMG_1412.jpg

There was a huge garage for oilsmen transportation department. Now it's still a garage, just for some other enterprise:
IMG_0399.jpg

This swing exactly like i remember them!
IMG_0401.jpg

And there was a mighty "МТС", which stands for "машинно-тракторная станция" - "automobile and tractor depot". In soviet times those depots provided centralised services and tractors, trucks and all sorts of agricultural machinery to collective farms all around. Now here just a wasteland. This three poplar trees - the only thing remained from old MTS:
IMG_0402.jpg

IMG_0403.jpg

And another abandoned place! There was a "свеклопункт" - a special facility to collect, weight, process and ship beetroots. Yep, dedicated facility for those dark-red taproot vegetables. A vast wasteland covered with concrete slabs, some rubble and some lighting masts is only remainings of "BeetStation":
IMG_1416.jpg

Huge grain elevator on a background is still working:
IMG_1414.jpg

IMG_1415.jpg

Time to park my bike in a raspberry bushes and go to sleep:
IMG_0413.jpg

IMG_0415.jpg

IMG_0416.jpg

IMG_0421.jpg

This sign greets drivers who enter settlement from north. It's bilingual, left side in Bashkirian, roughly transliterated as "Priyut Casabakhy". Never heard it out loud, but i bet it sounds badass:
IMG_0671.jpg

IMG_0673.jpg

It's early morning, settlement is still sleeps:
IMG_0674.jpg

Those strange rows of vents (or chimneys for gas stoves?) reminds me of stereotypical roofs of some old european town:
IMG_0676.jpg

IMG_0677.jpg

A grain elevator - local architectural dominant:
IMG_0678.jpg

Some old houses of first oilmen settlers are up to be demolished:
IMG_0679.jpg

And some are not:
IMG_0680.jpg

Causeway over railroad, i wonder if this lamp posts are genuine old lamp posts from 50's:
IMG_0682.jpg

Priyutovo train station (NG refinery can be seen in a right upper corner of photo):
IMG_0684.jpg

That's it for today, but there are still some photos of Bashkiria left, stay tuned!

One morning i decided to ride before sunrise. I've set an alarm clock, got up in dark and got off.
IMG_0627.jpg

Took one look away and saw how a solid blanket of clouds catching me up!
IMG_0629.jpg

Since this dirt roads so slippery when wet i decided to reach a nearest hard surface just in case.

Eneter to small village New-Turayevo:

An old arch-shaped culver hidden beside the road:

Despite thick cover of clouds over sky Bashkiria is still beautiful:
