There a thing in Russia - "Малая Родина", which translates as a "Small Homeland". It's about of a place of birth which you've had to leave behind and move in different place inside of country.I.e., if you was born in a small village Nekrasovka and then permanently moved to nearest big city to get education and decent work - Nekrasovka will become your "Small Homeland". Of course, the same thing happens with people all around the world, but not every country have a dedicated name for this.
Since Moscow is a pretty big city, you can leave your Small Homeland just by moving from one district to another My next trip was about visiting districts of my childhood - Aeroport, Sokol and Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo. To give my photos a new light (literally) i've left my garage on a sunset.
On a right - my former home, a've lived in this building my first 7 years of life:

Refrigerated railroad car in a yard of some institute... why? There isn't a single rail for a kilometer across:
Old constructivism style dormitories of 1930's, still looks like a wreck, something never changes, and that's a good thing for my trip down a memory lane
That weird looking pattern of a fence - is a rare one, common only for some old aerospace establishments in this area! Another strong memory from my childhood:

Then i've went several kilometers north-west from Sokol district to Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo, where i've attended to kindergarten. Most carefree times of our lives!

Time to go back in time to my actual home. I've took a long road and ride through old Pesnya district, which resides on a high bank of Moskva river and has some nice hilly streets:
Then i've went down to Moskva river and took some pics with nice view to ТЭЦ-12 chimneys:
Then i've stumbled upon a demolition of an old hotel. This was an Orlyonok hotel ("orlyonok" means a baby eagle) - a dedicated hotel for Soviet Pioneers (nationwide boyscout organisation). Then, after USSR fall, in this hotel was casino and brothel. Go figure...
Then i've went down to Moskva river and took some pics with nice view to ТЭЦ-12 chimneys:

The funny thing is "Pesnya" is my typo: the district is actually called Presnya, not Pesnya! But "pesnya" is also make sense - it is actual word meaning "song". Oh, i wish we do have a district calles "song", what a funny place that may be!

Kishkinsky pond ("kishka" means "bowel") are part of ТЭЦ-22 cooling system now. For some years water bring so much sand that pond became a riverbed again:
The further way been obstructed by fallen tree. I've taken it as a sign and went home:

We finally have a proper winter in Moscow this year, with a small, but sustainable cover of snow and moderate temperatures. The lack of sunlight is the only problem!
