la Nina rears her ugly head

Now there’s a new fire just north of me near Napa. Last night was ok but now the wind changed direction and the smoke is coming my way. The whole state is covered with smoke.
Several famous wineries have burned and a lot of people have been evacuated. No word on the cause yet.

Seems like with all the fires in the past few years, a significant percentage of forest land should have already been burned and less prone to burning again for a few years.

Here's a map of burn areas from this year alone:

We need rain. Where's La Nina when you need it?

The smoke is really bad today. AQI around 200 here but many nearby areas are over 350. Forecast high today was 102F, but it only reached about 85 due to the thick smoke. Silver lining I guess.

Oh global warming will be blamed and not controlled fire burns like the rest of the world does.

Most of CA. forests are federally controlled. Ask trump why they are not managed properly. As if he gives a damn about California anyway...

Cal Fire is the state agency solely responsible for battling the wildfires in our state, under our blabbering Governor Gavin Newsom (Nancy Pelosi’s nephew).

Need to buy more water aircraft to fight the fires. Whats a few more billion for water aircraft, just take it on to the already ballooning debt.
