Legends dropping like flies

I never had any affinity for sportsball, but I sure enjoyed watching Curly and Meadowlark in their day.

A guy with such birth defects having an NFL career and even setting records. Newsworthy without the Corona Virus being involved.

he 73-year-old, who suffered from dementia, died from complications with Covid-19 on Saturday at Lambeth House Retirement Community in New Orleans, his family told The Times-Picayune/The New Orleans Advocate.

CNN has previously reported state officials were monitoring the facility after discovering a "cluster" of cases at the retirement home, where numerous residents have died.

Its sad to see all the nursing homes and old age homes being hit hard with the Chinese Virus. The one in Calgary, is hit hard, gosh like 5 or 8 have died out of 100 residents. Mckenzie Towne old age home, by the slew/"lake". Sad. I think the government should take-over that facility and all nursing homes. Have security guards there. Gotta spend money on the virus to stamp it out. Those homes make a fortune anyways and the minimum wage immigrant workers are risking a lot, and probably dont care if they spread it or not. They gotta have some real nurses there, LPN's.

He was born without toes on his right foot and with no fingers on his right hand.

To compensate, he wore a custom, flat-front kicking shoe that ended where his toes were supposed to begin.
Thats probably his technical advantage for the longest kick back in the day. Would that be allowed in todays NFL league?

It's not probable, no proof it helped. Even after he held this record he wasn't considered such a good long kicker.

Today they require a normal shoe, so there would be a prosthetic inside.

Never should Max Von Sydow be allowed to slip our notice on departing.

Swedish actor Max von Sydow, who made his name in the films of Ingmar Bergman before featuring in international hits like "Game of Thrones,"

What is Game of Thrones, is it $1M if you win the game show?

So why does a guy who just keeps putting his team in the playoffs to the end even when the owners won't seriously pay players and much of the team is castoffs get fired? Even with two Superbowl wins in 6 appearances. His replacement didn't do anything to get people to forget him. This was the guy with the only undefeated regular and postseason team in the history of the NFL. And would have done it twice but he tried to let his previously injured quarterback come back in a game and quickly throw 3 interceptions that proved impossible to come back from. The backup who played and won for both teams was the same guy, Earl Morrall.

Don Shula might be the greatest football coach ever, Lombardi or no Lombardi. Without looking it up, who replaced Shula?

'Legends' -- Yes I'd say the Snow Birds are "Legends"

'Dropping like flies' -- Literally dropping out of the sky, like a fly, yes.

and appears to show at least one person ejecting from the jet shortly before it hit the ground in a residential area near Glenview Avenue and Schreiner Street.

It's not yet known whether the pilot or anyone else was injured.

The thumbnails title stated one reported fatality, but within the article
"and reports of at least one fatality, though they could not be independently verified. "

Snowbirds team member killed in Kamloops, B.C. crash identified
"One member of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds has died and another has sustained serious injuries after their plane crashed in Kamloops, B.C., while on a cross-country tour."
"CTV News has confirmed that Capt. Jennifer Casey has been identified as the Snowbirds team member killed in the crash."

It now all falls into place with this threads theme, dead people.
Legend, sure in every kids eyes and some grown adults who've seen them fly.

I don't know if legend is how I would describe Jack Rickard, but I have watched every one of his videos for eleven years. I have learned, laughed, and groaned watching his shows. I feel I know him better than I do many of my relatives, as he never hesitates to let his viewers know exactly what he thinks on every topic imaginable. While I disagree with him on many philosophical issues, I have always appreciated his candor, and feel he has a good heart.

I was sad to learn from his show today that he has pancreatitis, and an inoperable, cancerous tumor in his lung.
