Motorcycle speed limit loop wire really does

Hello, anyone can point me to the right dir, regarding what inside a controller, the speed limit external loop wire does? i mean is it going to a volt divider ? if we open the loop then speed is increased due to "something tells the controller IC brain to go faster",, is that a volt ? is there a way to increase the speed a 25% for eg? thks in advance
