Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has tried different propulsion system for snowy conditions. Like a snowmobile chain with a ski in front or other contraptions? Example, an electric snow-mo-bike?

I am really hooked on my ebike and would like to see if there are alternatives for the winter other then putting my bike in the locker.

cheers

Build a fat tire bike and it will do well on snow. We actually got some once, and I was quite suprised how well my dirtbike, with 2.5 inch back tire did. Not bottomless powder though, just 6" on top of dirt. So no real need for the ski.

It would be really cool to go ski joring behind an ebike! Doing it behind a stinky quad, or snowmobile, uggh.

wow, you got me dreaming here.... :)

I ride my bike in the hills "in my backyard", on roughly paved forest roads.

But for a few months this winter these roads will be closed because not maintained, so my current e-bike won't work (i guess, and for sure will try it but..).

And no way i can buy a snowmobile, because first: around my place there is no snow on the road or fields most of the time, and then, even if i get it up there, people will kill me riding any gas engine vehicle on these roads in the winter.

But if i could ride an electric snowmobile, or some kind of electric powered vehicle...wow !!!! that would be so damn cool ! But it would have to ride (and brake) into fresh snow, like a snowmobile does.

Anyone has any idea how much power is needed for a ride like this ? Much more than an e-bike i suppose, but the space for more batteries is there....

Gee. I want one for x'mas ! :D

This could be a good design to start with :

... and i can hear my wife: "oh, oh. here he goes again...."
