Has anyone ever tried to spot weld nickel strip to a neodymium magnet? Does it work? Is it dangerous or damaging for any reason? I'm worried the high current might have some magnetic interaction.

Basically, I'd like to make some low-current magnetic charging leads by putting nickel solder tabs on some small neodymium magnets, soldering banana plug leads to the tabs, and then heat shrinking over the exposed tab.

That way I could easily use my imax b6 to do manual balancing of my spot welded packs.

I have not tried using my spot welder on them, but I have soldered leads from a JST cable to magnets for exactly this purpose and it works just fine.
