2012 model, but lightly used (70 miles). New battery a few years ago. When pedaling there's a clicking sound/feel. Here's what the technician said:
- "gurgliness" while assist is on; feels like a bad motor phase cable
- because the phase actuation happens between the controller and the motor, and the controller is internal to the motor in this case, the root cause must be the motor.
He said this might be an easy wiring fix, except that he would have to access the motor internals, which they will not service. And a new motor would be too expensive plus have compatibility issues. So this sounds like a sale to someone with the mechanic skills to take on a project.
Any takers? The bike is in Marin County (San Francisco Bay Area).
