Sw900 error 08 throttle

Hi all.

My SW900 display is showing up as Error 08.
'the internet' says Error 08 is 'Throttle problem'.

Ive tired everything got a new throttle and still same problem

When I twist the throttle nothing happens any ideas?

Hi Manneh,
And welcome to the forum!

The controller may set a throttle code for a few reasons…
Throttle signal voltage too low, signal voltage too high on power up, or signal voltage goes too high.
Normal signal voltage is .8 to 3.6 vdc, no throttle to wide open throttle.
You need to check this signal voltage to see where you stand.

Did the system ever work with a throttle?

If so, what happened between the time it worked, and the time it did not?

Yes i fell of the bike and broke the throttle wire so replaced the throttle and still the same error the 08 code dose not go away even when u unplug the throttle any ideas what could it be

When i plug the 2 white wires to set the roststion of the wheel the wheels spins without any throttle when i use the throttle nothing happens

Is the new throttle identical to the old one, from the same seller?

If not, perhaps it is wired wrong.

Or it could just be defective; you'd have to see if it's producing the right voltages per the info Tommycat provided to find that out, or try a third one.

Otherwise, it could be there was other system damage, like the cable from the controller up to the throttle.
