for my project (electric outboard) I need some advices.

I have already a rc esc with servotester, but in continuos mode it became very hot, and so I want to use a small 6 fet chinese cheap e-bike controller sensorless on 8s li-ion (18650 cell without bms only lipo buzzer), it is possible?
I need a simple control speed motor 0-100%, only connect three phase wires motor, battery and throttle for my use (no other function. No pas, no brakes, no hall sensor etc.).
Which choice is better sine wave or square wave.
There is someone on ES that can help me? Thanks
