X5 Motor wiring

Hey guys so I split the wires right where the wires come out of the axel(dont know how I did it).After I repair them I would like to try and protect them.Anyone have any good ideas of protecting the wires as they come out of the motor?I noticed that the puma has the wires come out at the end of the axel instead of out the motor cover.

Did the axle spin in the dropouts ? ouch..

Wires at the end of the axle like the puma have their own set of problems ( drop the bike on it's side and it's guillotine time ! )

its just a little nick but enough to cause it to fail.I'll probably have to open the cover and run new wires and connectors-which is why I'm looking for ideas about protecting them so this doesnt happen again.

Something that the Red Hornet has that i found interesting was a metal jacket over the wires at the exit point, like a thin spring tightly coiled up.

Nylon braid jacket would help if you can find the right size,

file the sharp edges on the cover and axle to dull the corners..

Protective sleeving comes in a wide variety... fiberglass or kevlar might be good.

Thanks for the info guys-I checked the wires and its amazing how such a little nick can screw up your fun.The kevlar sounds cool-maybe I'll try that.
