Alrighty then. I've went ahead and updated my sig. The forum prevented me from using it saying the vertical resolution for images is limited to 240 pixels. Something I didn't know until I attempted to use it. :P
I've re-sized the GIF and re-uploaded to make it so the forum will accept it. :D
I have a question. Decided to post it here since other new users might need to know this as well. Otherwise I probably would have kept this to a PM.
(this section of the forum doesn't allow me to post new threads. So chose this as the most relevant place to mention this. I'm thinking I need to...
I'll look and see if they have a "half twist throttle". I've had more time to think about this and decided to keep a twist type throttle, But instead go with a half version.
The one I have now is already a "half twist" in the sense that I twist it half way to get full throttle. I mean half...
Ahh well completely forgot about this place. Some time has passed so I will update this thread.
Well the spacing on the right side was off when I tried to use the one piece BB. (the right side had the chain wheel too far outwards from the motor cog. I could in theory take off the freewheel...
<-- Updated my profile.
The voltage of the battery and controller is 36v. The battery is a LifePo4 I got from an eBay seller from China. Nothing too special. I did do quite the browsing and feedback review before eventually buying it. I avoided duct tape batteries. All in all, the careful...
Yeah I wouldn't really make use of the LEDs/buttons, So I would probably just isolate the extra wires and keep them insulated from the ones that are being used. I will bookmark the thumb throttle I found. This site you linked to ships from the USA? If so that's great since I won't have to wait...
Oh I see. And yes it's one of the controllers I got from GNGElectric in China. The supplier of the mid-mount systems that some other users have been using on the forums.
So it sounds like I can probably use the other thumb throttles on here since they are the same design.
EDIT:
Mine is...
Well I don't know what "hall effect" describes and once saw a few brushless controller specs use that term. I wasn't aware that brushed controllers/throttles use this as well?.
My controller is 36v 500 watts and the controller has 3 wires for the throttle and 2 wires for the motor (as I...
Where can I find a thumb throttle for a brushed ebike controller. All the ones I've seen on eBay appear to be for brushless controllers. (some refer to them as hall effect throttle).
I have a 36v controller for a brushed motor that drives my mid-mount based e-Bike. The twist throttle is getting...
Alright the new one piece BB came in the mail. (will have to wait another day for the special wrench to actually tighten it on). I did a test install and it appears I will have at least half the threading on the fixed side inside the frame. The frame also appears to have more then enough...
lol. Indeed. The SLA batteries I bought from a local car parts store. (I can't figure out how to spell the store's name so the most I can give you is O'R***lys or is it Ol'R***lys... can't even remember that. :P ). They had to ship them in. I assumed they were brand new. Perhaps they were...
Thank you for the the information. I will think about buying this and installing it.
It will probably be another week or two before I get the motor and kit moved to the bike, so I will have it installed (but not tightened since I will later pull it out to install the motor bracket) with out the...
Sorry for the bump, but I am thinking of switching my current BB setup to a cartridge type system:

I think they can be used in bikes that used to use the 3 piece (cup and bearing)...
Oh so the tensioner for the belt, not the one for the chain side of the drive. I guess the one way of solving that is to find a shorter belt so that the tensioner isn't required?
