Lowering LVC on YK33F 48V controller

Thanks, I decided to go with a 49.9k and 560k resistors, that put it at about 45.8k, and 3.03V per cell outcome. The cells I have are LG 18650 MH1's, and the cutoff is 2.5V so it will be fine. I also swapped the big power resistor from a 1.2k ohm to a 1.5k ohm, because the voltage at full...

Lowering LVC on YK33F 48V controller

Ok I traced the board, and the two little 155ohm resistors go to the sport mode switch so those have nothing to do with the LVC. So the only thing left are the two through hole resistors and the little SMD under on the 36V version. Turns out those resistors are in parallel. There is a trace...

Lowering LVC on YK33F 48V controller

Hello, I'm adding some more series cells to my setup, but the 48V controller I have the LVC is too high for my pack, and will shut down at about 3.23V per cell. Under 40 amps of load throttling I calculated with voltage sag will only get me 60% of the pack useage. (42V LVC) (13S lithium pack)...

    Hyperion EOS 1420i NET3 14s Balance Charger...

I read that this operation is normal for the charger to do this. I am a little worried about the cells going from 0 to 5 amps 100 times for only 1 charge lol..... From the manual: " Why do I see “0” current flowing during charge at regular intervals? Is it a “Pulse” charger? No, the charger...

    Hyperion EOS 1420i NET3 14s Balance Charger...

I bought a used Hyperion 14S charger last week, I've never had a hyperion charger before, but I'm testing out charging a 7S battery with a 12V 900W power supply at 5 amps. Every minute or so the charger will drop to 0.00 amps for a few seconds and then go right back to 5 amps. Its doing it...

    48V YK33F controller circuit question for 52V

Thanks for all the info! You the man! I will tinker with it, and report back. You are right there is a LM339 on the board. * * * UPDATED RESULTS: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=118065#p1737307 * * *

    48V YK33F controller circuit question for 52V

After thinking about this some more, I think i need to power it up and probe it with different voltage to see what's going into the regulators. There is a big difference between .02 amps and .035 amps on the voltage drop. Then I can get a real value on what the resistor needs to be changed to...

    48V YK33F controller circuit question for 52V

Thanks for the quick reply Amberwolf! The 2 regluators in the picture are a 78L05 5V and the one next to the end of the big resistor is a 78L15, 15V. Calculating 0.035A x 1180 ohms (1.18k) Im getting a voltage drop of about 41V. That seems like a lot, considering Normal nominal voltage of a...

    48V YK33F controller circuit question for 52V

I have a 48V 1000W controller I want to run 14S (51.8V) on. It will be about 58V full charge. I am wondering if the large resistor at the bottom of the board is used to step down the main voltage before going into the regulator then to processing circuit? This is a little different design...

    Razor E300 24V motor or 36V motor on 10S ? Amps?

Hey guys, I haven't posted on here in years since my E-bike project. I have a Razor E300 and a E200 I am going to mod. They are pretty gutless up hills stock, 250W motor and 24V. I ordered a 36V razor controller and matching throttle for both of them. I will be using custom built 2, 5S4P...

GOT MY VOLT 2014 TODAY !!

The best I have gotten is 52.5 Miles (84.5 Km) on 10.3 kWh. The 2013 Battery has a 10.5 kwh useable. Seems the 2014's are putting out a little more capacity. :D I would like to find that guy on the GMvolt forum and send him a Volt computer module to modify to use more of the capacity.

My 2nd build 5kw hub motor

I run KoolStop pads on the front wheel of my E-bike. They are the best and don't wear your rim out. I use a Avid V-brake type caliper with the V-brake or V-brake 2 dual compound pads. Wet and dry use. http://www.koolstop.com/english/rim_pads.html

A123 Cells, new, legit, factory direct!

I ordered 10 of the M1 cells last week to finish my modification from 3P to 4P. Erik shipped them out the same day. Very Very happy with the service. Everything Erik stated above is correct about the cells. :) 2 of the cells were 2029 and 2065 Mah. I tried cycling them at 3ah and 5ah to...

Using CAT5 cable as a Balance Lead extension

I'm using 22AWG for my balance charging setup. 2 to 3 feet long depending on which charger I am using. I would use 22AWG or 20AWG if I were you.

How far can you mod a 28mm (9C Clone) DD HUb?

I have measured 110c (230 degrees F) though the vent holes I drilled on my yescom motor back 4 years ago when I built my E-bike. I'm guessing it has been up to 120c (250F). The motor has around 700 miles on it now. I pretty much ride for fun with an occasional errand. I have not burned it...

Residue between FET legs is blowing controllers - solution?

I use a toothbrush and acetone. Then squirt bottle rinse off with acetone. Sometimes 97% isopropyl alcohol. But the Acetone cleans better. :D

Please help to ID this motor

You will need all new spokes. I have my motor centered with the rim and only a 5 speed cassette will fit. I have 2 tube spacers made from some stainless steel that fill the space to 135mm. I also machined spacers to space the disc brake out to line up with the caliper. Not sure how the 7...

Please help to ID this motor

I agree, you need to have a crossed spoke pattern. I wouldn't even run it like that. I would re spoke the whole rim. sigh, its a time consuming process. The motor looks like a clone of all the others, 9C, yescom, golden motor, etc... All 1000W. They can handle a lot.

    Fuses- again!

I have been using a 32V - 60A Maxi blade type fuse for the last 4 years and have not blown or burnt it up yet. I push peaks of 110A through it and some constants of 30-50 amps @ 65V-76V I actually have 4mm bullet connectors soldered right to the blades, because the normal fuse holder is...

    72v + users, do you use a pre-charge resistor?

All I use is a crystalyte 40A key switch with 12AWG modified wires. I've been pumping peaks of over 100A through it for the last 3 years. All I have between the battery and the controller is this switch. 0 problems. no sparks, nothing.

    Lyen 12 & 18 FET Current Capability

It does only hit 110 when taking off for a few seconds. After that it never gets that high. Even when going 20mph and pushing the throttle to full, I think the max for a few seconds is around 60-70 Amps. There is no short, the halls are correct. I have a yescom type motor GM, 9C clone and I...

    Lyen 12 & 18 FET Current Capability

I use a Watt/amp/volt meter that is in between the battery and controller and it does show pulling 110A peak from the battery. Nifty that my settings on the controller are phase 110A also. But maybe that's how its suppose to be?

    Lyen 12 & 18 FET Current Capability

My phase current is set for 110A, and that's what it peaks at. My rated current us set for 41A. Normal settings are 80/30. I was told you need to have a certain ratio between those two values. I don't want the Amps any higher than 110 going to the motor, thus 41 is correct for rated current...

    Lyen 12 & 18 FET Current Capability

The 12 Fet outputs 45A max to the motor with the stock programming. It does not pull 45A constant on my motor, its just peak for a few seconds. I have been going up hill full throttle and have seen 45-65 amps constant for about 5 to 10 seconds. But I have my controller set for 110 Amps peak...
