    Tips on waterproofing my battery

Thank you dogman it was definitely a wet plug because I've had no problems since dousing it with undercoating. Just looking for some better solutions, thanks.

    Tips on waterproofing my battery

I guess the sticky point for me is I prefer using 18650 cells which come in dolphin style cases which I've had cut out on me in a rainstorm far from home. I masked off the base of the battery and coated it with rubberized undercoating, the kind used on car chassis. Super messy and cracked off...

    Tips on waterproofing my battery

Need some help waterproofing my dolphin style batteries. The connection at the base of the battery seems to be the weak point. It's disappointing that these batteries come with the wires just wrapped in electrical tape, seems pretty half-assed. Maybe some heat shrink tubing? I just emailed Anna...

Bit of a clunk from my Bafang

So if it's a clutch problem would it still clunk if it's spinning freewheel with no power engaged? Just want to know the damned thing isn't going to lock up and throw me for a loop.

    8Fun gears/clutch broken or what?

Are you sure it's hooked up right? I had the same prob, but I swapped the motor phase wires around like it said in the instructions and it worked fine.

Bit of a clunk from my Bafang

So my Bafang SWXK has developed a "clunk" as it turns, there's no resistance as it spins power on or not. A couple years ago I had an incident of "spinout" when my bolts loosened and my wires got half ripped out. Removing the cap to fix them didn't expose much of the interior and I sealed it all...

    overworking my Bafang

So I ordered a Bafang 36v front drive kit for my mtn bike and when it came it was laced onto a 20" wheel. I got it remounted onto a 26", no problem. Since then I've had re-remounted onto a 700c wheel. Am I placing undue strain on my little motor?

    voltage sag

So I have 2 batteries, a 36v from greenbikekit.com and a 48v from conhismotor. Both are "dolphin" or "water kettle" style batteries. The 36v has noticeable sag after a short time, whereas the 48v has none. Superior battery construction or simply one is stronger than the other?

    Do electric bikes save lives?

Here in Vancouver there have been a couple of high profile cycling deaths; last year a lady fell under a bus trying to get around a pedestrian, another person was killed by a truck on a busy street. I've been commuting on a regular mountain bike, rain or shine for about 3 years before getting my...

Went to Conhismotor to buy a new battery and my antivirus kicked in, warning me that this site has been involved in phishing scams! Anyone else had this happen?

    More speed from my Bafang

So my motor having a rev limit doesn't make sense? All I have to do is crank the volts in Lyen's program and I should be good?

    More speed from my Bafang

About 6 months ago I bought a 250w 36v front hub Bafang motor kit mounted on the 20" wheel of my recumbent bike. I was unimpressed with the low top speed this combination gave me so I ordered a Lyen mini monster controller which Mr. Lyen kindly preconfigured for more speed. When I press my thumb...
