The SB Cruiser : Amberwolf's 2WD Heavy Cargo Trike & Dog Carrier

This is what I was talking about. :) If you cut a two inch square section of thick rubber out, popped two holes near the bottom corners, and one in the center on the top edge, you could bolt the top hole to the fork with a fender washer and torque it down tight to keep it from spinning and use...

The SB Cruiser : Amberwolf's 2WD Heavy Cargo Trike & Dog Carrier

Sorry for not participating here for a while. You know how computers and I get along. ;) It's scary to even think about driving my 8 ton truck around Phoenix. It takes guts of steel to commute on bikes there! I'm glad you're able to avoid altercations with the infernal consumption machines...

    Tiny's Wheelchair Project

I finally got the laptop to fire up. Every piece of electronic storage I own got fried a few months ago but the hd in the laptop was the only one that was salvageable. I lost every pic, the books, my music, designs, drawings, all research, etc. After a format though, was able to get the...

    Tiny's Wheelchair Project

Long time no talkie! My internet's been nearly non existent for a while now and my computer is on its last legs so I haven't been able to get on much. The temps you're posting are normal for dogs. They normally run between 101 and 103 but temps can climb a bit over that during digestion and...

Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

Just stay on top of Astro. Their service, or lack thereof, is a big reason why I'm no longer in the ebike game in any serious fashion. Sadly, the squeeky wheel gets the grease and I'm not a good squeeker. If they're a month behind again, someone with some money needs to get in to the inrunner...

Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

It's in the CA-LRC V3 settings somewhere. I'm not sure if the older ones can be reflashed. Here's the dev thread for the CA with RC controller features. https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=29846&hilit=ca+lrc

Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

That's great advice. A lot of people don't really understand gearing and motor loads so I just wanted to put something really clear out there. The higher the motor speed, the lower the amps, and big amps/low speeds are tough on stuff for sure. @MacRibs About the wheelie, even when geared for...

Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log

I just watched the video you posted on Oct 25th. It sounds awesome! It looks/sounds like it's definitely geared way too high, in that video at least, for any serious trail riding in hilly areas though. Just posting this so your motor/controller lasts longer. If you're bogging it like that...

What are you guys building over the winter?

I've been fixing and building guitars like a madman. Haven't even been able to think much about my electric vehicle projects. http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/4475905-post536.html I just told everyone no more repairs though because, for the next few months, I'm finishing my 9 string all...

Who has built their own vehicle "from scratch"?

Best thread on the internet! :D I've always modified factory vehicles in the past. Using someone else's frame and upgrading drivetrain/suspension. The new build is something no one's ever done before but not pic/thread worthy yet. Recycling/repurposing can be tricky for sure but might...

The SB Cruiser : Amberwolf's 2WD Heavy Cargo Trike & Dog Carrier

Sounds like you're good to go to come visit! Load up the poochies, recharge in Black Canyon City, recharge in Cordes lakes, coast down the hill. :) The trike and trailer are awesome! The only suggestion/engineering nerd thing I have to add is adding some spacers inside the hitch mount tubes...

20 inch full suspension street build (now with twin motors)

If you set up the throttle voltage threshold on the CA just slightly below the resting throttle voltage, the motors will always spin once low speed throttle cut point is surpassef. This keeps the slack out of the chain which smooths out that first little jolt when you give it throttle and it...

The SB Cruiser : Amberwolf's 2WD Heavy Cargo Trike & Dog Carrier

If you rough the inside of the rim up with some sand paper, the bead might grip better. I imagine that the inner tire isn't letting the tube put as much pressure on the rim wall as is normal. On my old rock crawler, because of the low gears and supercharger, I actually put a few screws through...

    Potting Batteries, Thoughts and Experiments

Different materials expand and contract at different rates. If something needs to swell, but can't, something's got to give. All of the potted electronics from major manufacturers that I've attempted to repair use potting materials with some flexibility to account for this.

That's really good! Makes me feel a bit more confident that my trike will get out of it's own way....if I ever get it done...lol

    Potting Batteries, Thoughts and Experiments

A couple observations/ideas. The epoxy didn't stick to the batteries in the first test. Roughing them up bit with a scotchbrite pad and cleaning them with alcohol will let the epoxy adhere completely. Another idea that would give them some protection without compromising repairability could...

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

I hope they come and shoot me soon. Don't know how longer I can put up with the general state of apathy and ignorance that seems so prevalent.

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

The top quote is very well put! I'm assuming that you meant disagree in the second quote. If someone, despite all evidence, still thinks that any government is, or even could be, honest and trustworthy, they are an enemy of the environment and humanity so I have no problem being divided from...

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

Bill Clinton's puppet strings are in the same hands as Bush, Reagan, Obama. If you can't see that, I might as well be having a discussion with a gerbil. I pointed out that your logical process regarding the integrity of the us government is flawed, and for good reasons that aren't necessarily...

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

Two quick things. First, in the OT you just posted, you just quoted a bunch of stuff you learned about bin laden through corporate/gov't controlled media, like it was gospel. I'd be willing to bet that ol Osama is in a mansion somewhere in Saudi Arabia swimming in his pool of dollars that the...

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

About the resonance thing. I used to have a textbook called Fundamentals of Mechanical Vibrations. I must have lost it or given it away. Anyway, I studied the heck out of that book and have applied what I learned there in my mechanical designs and custom vehicle builds, and haven't had a part...

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

The propaganda has been working on you since the day you were born. This is what you're missing. If I remember your post right, you even mentioned Osama's previous attacks (which were very likely BS, as his family is big time buddy buddy with the Bush clan). This is programming/propaganda...

Galileo/Newton agree-- 9/11 was an inside job!

eTrike Your persistence is admirable but in a way, you're like the American that goes to Mexico and just starts talking louder when a Spanish speaker isn't understanding you. lol Some people just don't do the logic thing. I guess that if their brains have been programmed by years and years...

Drivetrains & Batts to sustain Long Uphills

With an efficient setup, in offroad conditions, plan on 50-60 watt hours per mile on average, on road, 18-25wh. This will give you an idea of how much battery capacity will be needed to get the range you're after. I've found that in hard riding, 1ah/mile can be expected. On average, with some...
