    Welding down a torque arm

I'm wondering if anybody has tried spot welding down a torque arm to the axle of a front hub motor. I have a motor that still works but has some striped threads. There are a few concerns: 2 different kinds of steel and the high heat applied to axle could melt insulation. Yet it makes more...

What to do with 2 ebrake shutoffs for 1 controller plug

Hello, I was wondering what ebikers do with their second ebrake given that most controllers have 1 plug in spot. Do folks typically solder them into one plug or do they just go with 1 unit? I'm finally interested in trying them out for safety purposes. I had one incident where throttle could...

Why does my battery cut out at 51.5 V

Hi Folks, I have a little used (2017) 48 v 12 ah lifepo4 pack that runs good for 4 miles then apparently the BMS shuts it down. After reboot, bike rides again but becomes even more sensitive to shutdown. Motor is about 1000 watts, controller is 25 amp, I think. It is disappointing, especially...

    BMS or Bad Cells

All cell groups are 3.2 or 3.3v after a 2 mile ride, but the last cell group is zero. This is a 48v 15 ah life pack, but it only seems to have 15 cell groups (I could be wrong) So my voltage is about 46 to 47. There are only 15 balancing pin plugs on the bms (11 and 4). I counted it 10 times...

    Battery pack shut down problem

I have a 48/20 Lifepo4 pack that suddenly shuts down when throttling. It has always worked well on my bike. Recently, I did attach new 10AWG wiring from pack to controller which replaced a busted 12 or 14 awg wire. I suspect the BMS is fine. Could it be the excessive and thicker wiring...

    WE Battery Bag Falls Off

yesterday, I was riding around during lunchtime and my 36v 12ah Silicone battery pack(30 lbs) flew off the rear rack @ about 15 mph.. It hit the street and tore up a stock battery bag. batts are scratched but ok. I usually use a bungy cord or belt to help help hold pack. This time there was only...

    BMS cut-out on Lifepo4 Packs

Originally, both my lifepo4 packs would not cut-out easily on my WE Bd-36. I adjusted the wiring on the packs to include wire nuts and suddenly the packs shut down easily. One pack is 48/15, the other is 48/20. They both work on my brushless, though. Any ideas if using wire nuts can contribute...

    SLA Battery lifespan/capacity

I have four. 36v 12ah battery packs that I use, along with a lifepo4 pack, on my 2 electric bikes. The yellow indicates empty or low battery. It comes at 37.2 volts for one battery pack and and doesn't typically go yellow on other packs until 36.5 volts Also, one of my battery backs is Silicone...
