Regardless of the specific voltage whatever a 48V humm sounds like, for either safety concerns or nostalgic reasons or whatever, do you prefer an electric motor-cycle/bike that makes noise?
Just to draw a line in the sand, the sound level doesn't mean absolutely silent but any sound loud enuf that can be heard by passersby as you approach & would easily be recognized as not being a normal bike, so 5 dB or thereabouts.
