    Step up converter recomendations

Most of the step up converters that i have seen have adjustable voltages. I am primarily concerned about finding one with adjustable amperage as well that can handle the ranges that i need (up to 14 amps at 67.8 volts)

    Step up converter recomendations

I am putting together a charger for my Ebike Battery. I am not doing this to be cheap, I am doing it to allow for versatility since I will likely add a couple series groups in the future and I want to be able to just adjust my charge rates as well as voltage instead of buying a new one for each...

    Acid flux on 18650s

I did not see that video but that is exactly the info I needed. I will stick with rosin flux

    Acid flux on 18650s

Yea, this is not my first and I am pretty good at soldering. I also have a good iron. I can do a joint in about 1 second or less with my hakko station and large chisel tip. To get a fast joint you have to remove the oxide layer on the can first. Rosin flux does not become acidic until it’s...

    Acid flux on 18650s

I have seen a few videos of people using acid flux on 18650s. They seem to get really fast wicking with out the need for surface prep. My question is: is this an ok idea? I am considering it for my next build but I don’t know if I should. Acid flux is not recommended for electronics and needs...

3d printer filament in battery pack

Sorry, I was confused. I thought that someone was saying that PETG was biodegradable and I did not think that it was lol.

3d printer filament in battery pack

Thats crazy. I have been printing for 4 years and never knew that PETG was also biodegradable. I am considering adding some air vents my only concern is water in the battery pack. could be more exposed to moisture though.

3d printer filament in battery pack

I already made them out of PETG. I know that you can anneal most PLA but I had PETG around anyway. I orient my layer lines according to stress points. These cell holders should have very little stress though. My battery case though: that is a different story

Should I vent my battery case?

I have not built my pack yet. I was just wondering if it was important to do. It sounds like it should not really be all that important.

Should I vent my battery case?

I am in the middle of designing a battery case for my ebike and printing it. Now my question is: should I add some vents to allow a little airflow. It seems like a good idea when dry but rain is my concern. I was thinking that maybe I could either 1) design a latch that I could push down if it...

Best practices in voltage before stringing cells

Awesome, thanks. This is exactly what I was looking for. I'll test them all. If they are off, then I'll get them in range before linking them.

Best practices in voltage before stringing cells

so I have finally ordered my 18650 cells and BMS. Are there any best practices for cell voltage before I start stringing them together? should then be at a specific voltage range? I assume that voltages should all be pretty close since I ordered reputable cells from a reputable vendor. I am of...

    Specing battery for controller

Thanks for all the help. I ended up getting the 20amp rated cells instead (25Rs). I asked in a couple of different places and the general concencus was that the 10amp cells would work but its cutting it close. I would rather have a safer build with slightly less capacity.

    Specing battery for controller

so I am planning on using these: https://www.imrbatteries.com/panasonic-ncr18650pf-2900mah-10a-flat-top-battery/ They are listed as 10amp continous. Do you think that these would work well for this kit in a 4p configuration...

    Specing battery for controller

I posted this on reddit but i think I will get more responses here: I am specing out my cells now. I am between a 20amp and 10amp discharge 18650 cell in a 14s4p pack. The 10amp discharge cells have a little more capacity though. the 10 amp cells should give me 40amps at 52v of discharge...

    Good 18650 vendors

I can wait a month. I'm not in a major rush for this project.

    Good 18650 vendors

Hey Tom, how are shipping prices from NKON to the states? a lot of their prices are pretty similar or more than IRM however, I saw some awesome deals like the Sony US18650NC1 2900mAh was 2.72 USD for 50 or more. MadRhino: I am just looking for good vendors for bare cells. I am building a 52v...

    Good 18650 vendors

I think I am going to do IMR. I did not see any strong recommendations for vendors in there other than a couple vape suppliers which did not have good prices for bulk purchases.

3d printer filament in battery pack

I am going to be building a battery pack soon for an ebike. I was planning to do PETG since it has a glass transition of 80C. I was thinking that PLA might not be sufficient since the glass transition temp is around 60 for it. Is it reasonable to assume that the battery pack will not get above...

    Good 18650 vendors

I apologize if this is posted. I searched and did not find it. I'm looking for a good vendor for 18650 cells. I'm in the US but I don't mind ordering from over seas. I'm only buying around 56 cells or so. So far, irmbatteries looks decent. I'm not sure how their shipping is. I know that some...

    fuse question

ok so will a 32v fuse work? I am concerned because this fuse runs between the charger and the battery. The charger is a 48v charger and the fuses all seem to be rated at 32v. Is it safe to use a 32v fuse in this application?

    fuse question

I have tried thoes and they do not fit. It looks like they are gma fuses rather than the standard agc fuses. The 20a gma fuse is 3/16 of an inch diameter and 3/4 inch in length instead of 1/4 x 1 1/14.

5000 mah lipo or 7ah sla?

That is cool. The x360 is quite different than the x500. I did not even know that the x360 had any folding mechanism. The x500 is basically the exacy same as the bladez450. The fold joint is right where the handle bar and board intersect.

5000 mah lipo or 7ah sla?

5800 is leaps and bounds more expensive than 5000. I can simply not justify the price for an additional 800 mah.

    fuse question

I am trying to replace the main fuse in my xtreme x-500. I can find the fuses online but they are quite overpriced for fuses. What kind of fuse would I use for 48V? I want to replace the entire fuse holder so that I can use generally available fuses. Is it safe to use a general A/C fuse that is...
